Veronica Resort By The Beach ,Calangute-Goa — Hotel in Goa

This is my third time with Veronica. We can easily afford to stay at higher range resorts but still we love to stay at veronica, the little place situated in quaint lanes and close to beach. ||This is for 3 reasons 1. The owner Joseph is a fantastic guy and his assistants are very kind and helpful too , the direct booking process through whats app is hasselfree and you pay only 1000 advance. 2. the hotel has a perfect location 3 mins walk to the beach stretch which connects to candolim, calangute, baga stretch 3. The rooms have all amenities (fridge, wifi, AC, hot water, room service for food, we can buy our own drinks too) at a lot cheaper price range.||You will not find very hifi crowd here may be due to its cheaper rate people are bit skeptical about its quality and standards. but I am sure this place will attract polished crowd very soon. The best part it's location which is on calangute caldolim shopping road (just a 5-6 min walk in the inside lanes) which makes it not only peaceful but also very accessible for short walks or shopping or even breakfast options. They do have a fully operational inhouse restaurant and also a little swimming pool (which is cute to enjoy with kids) . The restaurant serves breakfast (extra cost or buy a package with room) and also good lunch dinner options. They make good chinese. ||The rate we paid this winter (Nov 2021) was 2200/- per night for non ac , no breaksfast room which i think is too good a rate for a very clean room and spacious balcony overlooking village houses and mango and palm trees. The views can differ depending on the room. we were in 405. No mosquitos (few light flies can be there in the night but nothing that bites you) . From room balcony, we spotted several times Kingfishers, kakakoa and many other rare birds and also spotted moongus. The neighboring dog breezy was already our friend. We stayed for 8 days and had a greate time there . Every morning you can go swimming in the sea as it is so walkable and then get back drenched and after shower enjoy breakfast anywhere you like. They also rent out scooters, arranges airport , station transfers at reasonable rates. They have parking (though the last lane to location is very narrow but innova can pass easily) . Cleanliness is high, the workers are trustworthy and no theft threats. They give you 1 water bottle free everyday. Earlier they would also make free trips to you if you stay over 3 days (eg. cruise tickets, dolphin trips) but that;s no longer happens. But you can book trips anyway through them with extra cost. ||I am so much in love with this place that I will stay here every year when i will visit goa . by the way a posh resort right next to it charges 24000 per night for the same location so do consider this great place and save your money to spend on something more interesting while in goa. Unless you are a person who just want to chill in a room whole day , this is a perfect destination for all those who are true travel seekers...

I stayed in this guest house for five nights and four days.I occupied room number 304. I would recommend all not to go for it.The entire stay at this place was not satisfactory at all 1Booking was done by my husband after going through the positive reviews

of this guest house but on arrival the services offered by the team of veronica guest house were not at all satisfactory. 2 The online booking site showed complimentary breakfast which was denied by the owner on arrival We had to spend for breakfast from our own pocket. The rooms were not cleaned everyday but on alternate days that to not in the presence of the occupants but in their absence. 4.The bedsheets and towels in the room were dirty and smelled badly.They were not changed at all during our 4 day stay.

5The WiFi was not serviceable in the rooms but only in the restaurant area which was again a big inconvenience. 6 The entire team of veronica guest house was non committal .On being told to book our seats well in advance by bus for the purpose of sight seeing they didn't hence we had to hire a taxi from them to go to south goa .For this we had to spend triple the money. 7 The taxi driver was hand in glove with the owner .He stole our packet of eatables and on being asked where the packet is he showed complete ignorance . 8 The approach to the guest house is not very good .Around 2 km away from main road .There is not street light on the way 9 Hence I advice everyone not to book this place for your stay.Go to any other place but never prefer it...

We booked on new year eve, price was 4x easily. You may get a better deal. So no Value for money. Rooms got mosquitoes easily, there was no repellant as wekk. We were asked to review there itself before we could leave. I have edited my review now, I want to be honest to other travelers. Location : Once you reach hotel, it is convenient to reach beach by walk. However, hotel is inside a narrow road. Not easily approachable. Parking :- Major concern. Parking two cars side by side is quite difficult. Overall 4 cars can be parked. ( 2 adjacent and 2 behind those ) Two SUVs can not be parked, doors will not open. Someone scratched my car probably while trying to get out. Service Quality :- We had to call person multiple times to fix some bathroom faucet issue. He took quite a lot of time and that caused some inconvenience to us. Food :- Restaurant inside is costly. Almost same price as a beach shack. Here you don't get any view also. Food is not that great. Amenities :- Swimming pool is very small in size. Mostly kids would enjoy. Wifi has trouble connecting at many places and even inside rooms also. AC would peep sometimes if used for longer duration. Cleanliness :- Surroundings were clean. However, room service people did not come next day to clean it even though it...
