Four Points by Sheraton Ahmedabad — Hotel in Gujarat

I just checked into Four Points Sheraton today - having patronised the Mariott Bonvoy Group - bad decision so far! Here is my experience so far:

staff upon check in is pleasant - but gave me a base category room when I had booked superior. Was told the hotel is non smoking until I requested room change and then was told they have smoking floors! There are serious stain issues - the main room window of the room is stained - a Sheraton can’t Maintain this? I haven’t experienced this before ! The tap has stains, the bathroom glass separators have stains ! Basically it’s a very run down hotel ! We have booked a package with a free round of tea/coffee at Eatery. We were told the coffee machine is broken so instead of a cappuccino or latte - they could serve a Nescafé on stove - which also took 30 mins! A hotel of this calibre and no coffee machine?! Unheard of ! We checked into the room only to realise it has no safety deposit box! It’s a 4 star Sheraton - how is this possible ? I checked - the amenities on MakeMyTrip and hotel clearly mention safe as one of them! When asked - they said it’s on request only and they dont have one!! I found this to be bizarre ! The room is cramped!! In description it read to be 334 sq ft !! The room is NOWAY that much ! This is misleading! I’m honestly beating myself up for trusting the reviews posted which do NOT match the description at all ! It’s WAY smaller! Furniture and TV is OLD. A basic ICE BOX. Also comes with a broken handle and top! I mean - come on????!!!! How is this even happening !!! The shower and water pressure is a JOKE! Me and my sister could not even wash our hair properly cause the pressure is beyond pathetic - again, have stayed multiple times in this city since I was a child - never had such an issue at any other hotel rooms! I paid a BOMB for this! This is SO not worth the price guys - I should’ve stuck to Hyatt Regency or something else in the same price - beating myself up for choosing this! Same budget - WAY better properties!!! They said room service is round the clock and I understand some items maybe limited - so I called at 10.30 pm before the kitchen closes to confirm if there will be a paneer dish and some form of roti available later at night. I was assured apart from the tandoor - normal chapati and sabzi will be available. Only to be told a big fat “no” by Tanveer - the rude in room dinning in charge at night. After i complained to the front desk manager - they arranged for the food - the chef was very accommodating infact but im not sure why i had to go through a rude fellow like Tanveer to just get a basic sabzi ans chapati?!! Again unheard of in other quality hotels!

I wanted to sit and type a detailed review so that I can save misleading bookings for readers who like quality for the price they are paying!! DO NOT BOOK this hotel!! 100 percent go for another option like Radisson or even a Hyatt Regency! I have new found respect for Taj which I think I may have taken for granted!

Thankfully in the end Mr.Vijay & Mr. Abhijeet- front desk managers- helped us check out and agreed to refund the amount for the remaining 1 night stay.

My recent stay at the Hotel Four Points by Sheraton in Ahmedabad from March 14th to March 16th, 2024, left me deeply disappointed and dissatisfied. Despite my initial expectations of a pleasant and comfortable stay, numerous issues arose throughout my two-day visit, culminating in a significant level of frustration and discontent.

To begin with, I had made two separate bookings for consecutive days, one from March 14th to March 15th and the other from March 15th to March 16th. Prior to my arrival, I contacted the hotel directly to inquire about the need to switch rooms between bookings. I was assured by hotel staff that there would be no need to change rooms, and that the same accommodation would be provided for both days. However, upon arrival on March 15th, I was informed that my room was not ready and had to wait for over an hour for it to be cleaned. This unexpected delay after a long journey was certainly not the welcoming experience I had anticipated.

Furthermore, I had specifically requested a birthday cake and decoration for my friend's birthday celebration, which was scheduled for the evening of March 15th. While the hotel agreed to provide a 250g cake, they stated that they did not offer any decoration services. Despite confirming the arrangement over the phone, the cake was not delivered as agreed upon at 11:50 PM on March 15th. This lack of follow-through on their part was incredibly disappointing, especially considering the significance of the occasion.

Additionally, there was confusion regarding my request for airport transfer on the morning of March 16th at 4:00 AM. Initially, the hotel staff informed me that such a request had not been made and quoted a price of 1800 INR for the service. However, after further investigation, they acknowledged receiving the request but only after a delay and some initial confusion. This lack of organization and clarity in their communication further added to the frustration of my overall experience.

In summary, my stay at the Hotel Four Points by Sheraton in Ahmedabad fell far short of expectations due to a series of disappointing incidents and lapses in service. From delays in room readiness to unfulfilled promises regarding birthday arrangements and airport transfer confusion, the level of dissatisfaction I experienced was significant.
