Madhav Bagh - Royal Heritage Stay — Hotel in Gujarat

We spent the first night of our road trip from Mumbai to Udaipur at Madhav Bagh. We chose this 130 year old Royal Heritage Stay as it was pet friendly. We were traveling with our small dog ( Mocha the Shihtzu).It was the best decision. Madhavbaug is a beautifully restored heritage property with all modern amenities in the room, keeping the old royal charm very much intact. We were greeted by the hosts Shivraj Gaekwad and Indrayani Gaekwad themselves. The hosts are a very friendly and welcoming couple. They explained us the history connection which kept us thoroughly engrossed. They even accommodated our last minute date changes without any extra charges and we are really grateful to them for that. The dinner arrangements were extremely meticulous keeping our food choices in mind. We also had a lovely piping hot breakfast the next morning before we proceeded on our trip to Udaipur. They were very accommodating with our requests of boiled eggs for our pet and our food timings. They also have 3 per dogs and they have beautifully managed separate enclosures for them so that the pets of their guests are not scared of their large dogs.We returned back from Udaipur to spend another night stay here before heading back home to Mumbai. Our car batter my conked off. Mr Gaekwad helped us drive to the battery store in his vehicle for us to purchase the new battery. It was very kind of him. Mrs Gaekwad also informed us about the timings of the Lakshmi Vilas Palace and her staff even looked after our pet while we visited the palace and returned back. She takes care of all the minute details which makes the stay experience here very memorable for their guests.The couple is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. A Royal Place in true sense with fantastic Relais and Chateaux style Accommodation and most important is there Royal Maratha Cuisine and Specially served under attention of the couple owner, all rooms are restored in its own indo sarcenic style interiors without missing the old charm of royalty, excellent hospitality and every service are done with concern and love, enjoyed there kolhapur e Tanjavore Cuisine, lamb Songti or Meat Balls traditionally consumed with Pandhra Rassa and Steamed Rice, we ordered as appetizer, along with malai chicken kebab not like conventional Tandoori Tikkas but slow pan braised creamy chicken morsels soft in center and crisp from outside, a Thin Stuffed Mini Bread Rolls nice and crispy and koshimbir Wadi means Cilantro Fingers all where served hot and in small portions, a main course consisted of Mutton Rassa, Stuffed Green Chicken topped with ultra flavored oil, interesting was even veg also Dahi Bhendi and Fresh Cauliflower Pickle not a bottled style , very unique taste , served with Wada Bread a fermented mix grain dough fried donuts goes well with spicy curry, a steamed home farmed indrayani rice, a great spread sweetly ends with kesar Phirni again a there classic.
