Renowned architect Alfaz Miller was enlisted to create a unique façade, a structure that is crescent-shaped rather than linear when his idea for an eye-shaped design stood out from other proposals. Thanks to its sleek, curvy shape, each room differs in size and form. In deference to the surrounding buildings, a sandy palette was chosen for the exteriors. The rooms mix Italian marble, warm wooden floors, and accents of plush silk for a contemporary look with local influences. The open-plan space allows for the marbled bathrooms to be discreetly screened off. Rani pink, indigo blue, marigold orange, eggplant purple—all strong colors associated with Indian culture—are found on the bedspreads, while artichoke-shaped chandeliers and Flos lamps can be dimmed to control the sensuous mood.
Keeping the vibe of the property intact we visited its all day dining restaurant where an exciting gastronomic experience was awaiting us. Their international cuisine restaurant with an Asian soul offers an array of Asian classics from India, Burma, China, Thailand & Indonesia. At the same time the international traveler will not be left out for the want of European comfort food as they have that base covered as well.
Still in awe of the concept and the property we ended up trying out a series of items off their menu where the chef was courteous enough to guide us through our food journey carefully explaining the key ingredients of every dish served to us along with the difference it possessed while its preparation. Our dining experience started off with a very warm welcome note along with a chatpata welcome drink.
We then moved on to Cappuccino funghi e tartufo, basically aromatic mushroom puree served along with two portions of garlic bread. The puree had a distinct flavor of mushroom and with the presence of slight butter, the taste was enhanced exponentially. Next we were served Prawn wonton soup which comprised of lemongrass & galangal infused broth along with two pieces of wontons. The wontons complemented the flavor of the broth and it turned out to be our new favorite.
The next item served to us was the mezze platter comprising of hummus, tabbouleh, baba ganoush, tzatziki, zaatar chicken, fish tuk and falafel with homemade pickle and pita. This was the most colorful dish, both in terms of presentation and taste, served to us. We loved the chicken and fish and its marination with apt spices to complement the cuisine. The dips/hummus were again outstanding especially the avocado one! We moved on to our all-time favorite salad-the classic Caesar salad which had iceberg garlic croutons, parmesan shaving tossed in anchovy dressing. Needless to say, we went gaga over this one!
We, being fond of tofu decided to devour teriyaki tossed Asian green with crispy tofu which had a tantalizing taste where on a bed of veggies we had slightly crispy tofu with a perfect crisp on the outside and utterly moist on the inside. Being amazed by this we tried the non veg version of the same dish where we had miso soy chicken on the same dressing and again it was a delight to our taste buds and belly!
The last lot of our meal comprised of river sole parmigiana which was lemon and caper risotto and charred asparagus and fish, gluten free vegetarian cannelloni with feta and pornodoro sauce and portions of handmade chicken tikka pizza and creamy mushroom pizza! Every item served was with perfection and had an astounding taste and aroma to die for! The highlight out of these was the cannelloni which we gorged upon hungrily.
In the drinks section, they have a unique set of mocktails which we just loved. We had moksha, which was a great concussion of pomegranate juice, guava juice, aam panna, chaat masala and lemon and shikanji! We loved both of them but our favorite was Moksha!
In desserts section we had gluten free chocolate mousse going by the name of death by decadence which was made out of almond flour!
All in all, we had a lovely...
Read moreWhat a beautiful restaurant !! Yes, that’s the first thing that hits you when you enter Naya at Anya Hotel. The F&B experience takes it to the next level. I went for a special preview of Naya restaurant recently and was thoroughly impressed by the efforts to create a brand that amplifies top notch dining experience beyond the hotel premises.
This place has a very energetic vibe with beautiful interiors. The menu is curated by renowned Chef Ankit Malik.
The menu consist of european and oriental cuisines. We started out with a welcome drink and then moved on to Cappucino funghi e tartufo, a mild yet creamy pureé of mushrooms served in a coffee cups along with portions of crispy garlic bread. A host of mezze platter followed and I like em all. It compromised of hummus, chicken, fish and falafel served with colourful dips. Next we went for mushroom and chicken tikka pizza. The pizza was crisp and was loaded with spicy chicken tikkas and mushrooms! We also tried the classic caesar salad, a delightful bowl. For the main course, we had Kung Pao Chicken with Hakka Noodles. Again the chicken was fresh and perfectly cooked. We were already full but there was more we wanted to try.
For the drinks, we had She-Kanji consisted of cucumber, roasted zeera lemonade. Oh this so was so refreshing! Next, we tried Cheeky Chocolaty, this has caramel sauce, coco powder, vanilla ice cream and expresso shot. Totally a pure bliss!
We wrapped up the meal with a couple of desserts. Again very tempting!! We had gluten free chocolate mousse ( Chocolate Decadence) and an apple and berry torte. Absolutely divine!! The service was efficient as well with a keen eye on the minutest of the details. On the side very discreetly, silent promises were made to self to revisit the restaurant at my earliest convenience and check out some other gems on the menu. Overall, a lovely evening and we had a great time. Kudos to the entire team for such a great...
