Hotel Park Royal — Hotel in Haryana

I am not sure about the star rating, it was mentioned as 4 Star when I booked it on booking.com and it's mentioned as 2 star in Google maps now when I am writing this review. As a 2 star it's definitely above par and as a 4 Star below par. We arrived around 10 P.M. and there was loud music at the members only rooftop club which is a daily affair and goes on till 2.00 A.M. , though we were spared of the noise in our room probably because it was in the basement or perhaps the sound proofing was good. We were guided to the Hotel by the link sent to us but we were told that our reservation was at another nearby hotel, thankfully we were accommodated at this very hotel as we were pretty tired. The setup and rooms are good. The rooms were clean and surprisingly cosy for the January weather. We had 2 rooms 128 & 129. 2 bottles of water, towels,soaps, tea kettles and tea/coffee condiments were provided. The condiments trays were however provided as used from other rooms as some of the condiments were open and half used and soiled. The TV set-top boxes were missing in both rooms but we're setup promptly on request. We got the 2 rooms for Rs. 2800 in all for a day which was cheap compared to what we were getting in Chandigarh which is 8 Kms away. The breakfast was Rs.500 per person and nearly the same if we ordered a la carte, it seemed expensive so we skipped. There's open parking just outside. Overall...

The property is newly built at a prime location in the city and has all the amenities of a decent 3 star hotel. The rooms are spacious and bathrooms are well lit and accommodating to fit your hygiene needs. The restaurant looks decent and has good quality utensils and cutlery.

The only thing that this place lacks is the hospitality attitude. The staff at reception is most probably owners' family and they treat you like they are doing a favor to you by allowing you to stay in their property. The quality of ingredients in food they serve is decent but everything lacks taste. What is strongly felt during my stay is that they are first timers in the hotel business and it will take time for them to learn the soft skills of the industry.

And that severe body odor that fills the entire rendition area!! God, that is a spoiler of a kind. The management must assess which of the receptionists is smelling that bad and get him/her a dermatologist and pack of...

Our deluxe room on the first floor was spacious and clean. Bed linens were clean and fresh. Bathroom - large enough, with a separate glass partitioned shower area. Staffers were polite and friendly. Breakfast provided is good. The small kitchenette -electric kettle, tea bags/coffee sachets and milk powder, glasses and cups - is good. There are two large parks next to the hotel and we enjoyed our walk both in the morning and evening. What can be improved: I wish they had used a longer partition in the shower area to prevent water from spattering the floor on the other side. Water pressure was too low, so we could not use the shower; had to manage with bucket and mug. The light over the bathroom mirror is too dim (for shaving /makeup).
