We had actually booked Haywhizz for our stay at Havelock 2 months prior to our check-in and taken 50% of the advance. They had cancelled our booking 5 days prior to check in and moved us to this new property, ILE Bay Resort for the same price citing renovation as an excuse. Nevertheless, we had a warm welcome into this property. We were picked up at Havelock Jetty and dropped to the hotel. Since we had a more than horrible experience at Port Blair, we had arrived with our own set of apprehensions on the property.
Pros: Close to major sightseeing in Havelock Clean rooms In house restaurant was good. Not sure if they were cooking this well because we were the only guests on the first 2 days
Cons: No WIFI :( No cable/DTH. They have not recharged the TV Buffet breakfast was excellent. However, second day onwards food taste dropped. Complimentary breakfast started tasting bad. However, if you order a-la-carte, food was really good. They only accept cash. No card/UPI. Very difficult to be carrying large sums of money on trips. We are in a digital payment era. Things need to improve in this regard. Food costing needs to be revisited. Something that I consider as our worse experience was we were disturbed by the doorbell constantly at quarter to 6 in the morning. The incessant ringing got me very angry and I asked my husband to have a look since I would have thrashed the person. When my husband opened the door we discovered it was one of the guests who had checked in the previous night who was drunk and was ringing our bell thinking it was his room. That entire group was creating a nuisance the whole time. Even after I complained at the front desk, there was no action taken I understand we all need money to survive. But you cannot inconvenience the rest of the guests for this. This is highly...

I stayed for 2 days with family of 5 (including my wife, parents, sister and a 2 year old kid.
Rooms are good. Spacious and well planned. However good things end here. Here are my gripes:
I was given room on ground floor.. all rooms have big glass in front which is see through from both sides(that means from outside too). And the length of Drapes is short.. when you get one side covered other side opens up slightly. Getting it right is a task. Big privacy issue you'd not expect in this type of hotel.. Food was ok taste wise but on both days I ordered non spicy food for kids and they delivered spicy food.. One day I found piece of thread in the food. Though they agreed to refund the amount (yet to confirm though as I'm writing this review on 2nd night) but still it's not an experience you'd want. Restaurant has very limited food options. Service is sometimes ok.. sometimes it's very bad.. had to ask 3 times for a spoon which they did not place for tea. Had to ask 3 times to clear dishes after dinner.
My major gripe was non working wifi.. which some have complained in previous reviews also. They make excuses but it works in reception area.. they won't place routers/repeaters just to avoid costs.
It's a bit inside from main road. Still around 1.5kms from harbour area (where you get ferry) All in all avoid this hotel. Edit1: owner's response to this review exposes how rude and non responsive they are to customer's need and grievances.. things to add.. breakfast is also bad.. Also curtains are really not sufficient for the glass.. this review gives me no Satisfaction but to expose fake rating of the hotel.. and yes they did not charge for dish which...
Read moreWorst experience ever. The hotel’s washroom was dirty, jet spray was almost 90% clogged, AC was not working since we checked in. Even after 3 hours of complaining, the manager in charge says they had power issue he had turned the generator on, it would work now. Unfortunately turns out multiple rooms in the 1st floor had issues with AC. Upon asking for room change or refund, the person claims that it’s cooling(it was soo frustrating), I’ve checked with other guests in ground floor it was working well since afternoon. The person was not at all helpful for even getting in touch with his superior, claiming they are on leave, and I will have to adjust for that night. Next day as soon as someone from ground floor rooms vacate he would shift me there. I LITERALLY BOOKED ANOTHER STAY AND CHECKED OUT after arguing with them for over an hour.
The person was not even helping for cancellation, says cancel from wherever you’ve booked. Hotel’s reservation cell was not picking calls to confirm cancellation(at 7:02 the person says it’s post 7, they close at 7. Though I had been trying to call them since 6:30). After a lot of struggle, with the help of agoda was able to get contact number of Mr.Raj who swiftly accepted the reality and deficiency of services and orally accepted the cancellation. Thanks to Mr.Raj, the only person from ILE BAY RESORT who seemed to accept the reality and accepted the cancellation. The person who was present there could’ve just contacted/shared Mr.Raj’s number for quick resolution.
A note to ILE BAY RESORT: If at all you want to stay in business you have to take serious action against the person in charge on 8th April 2024. His behaviour is not at...
