Bir Valley Retreat — Hotel in Himachal Pradesh

We booked a month stay at the Bir Retreat for our honeymoon paragliding vacation. We wanted a private apartment close to the landing zone, and we were lucky to have stayed in the only private building on the property just minutes away from the landing zone. The property was quiet, peaceful, the garden was beautiful, and away from all the noise and traffic near the main road. The resort staff was friendly and accommodating. On day one, we were asked what else we needed for our long stay. We asked for the to have a fan, fridge, and bucket they quickly provided on day 1. They listened to our needs and provided which was great!! The apartment had amazing air conditioning, hot water, and a hot plate to cook food. The large couch was very nice for relaxing and we loved the option of having 2 beds, one downstairs and one upstairs so we could choose. We slept upstairs the whole time. The view of the landing zone and launch from the upper bedroom was amazing! The view downstairs of the beautiful rice paddies was amazing too! We loved that our place was cleaned every day by the staff. We were provided with bottled water daily and we could order delicious food and tea from the kitchen directly to our room. We ordered morning breakfast which was very convenient. The aunties also were able to clean our laundry for an additional service which was very convenient for us. Tranquil and Thoughtful—Perfect for Couples

My wife and I spent a week at Bir Valley Retreat, and it was just what we needed—peace, nature, and genuine hospitality.

Location & Views The retreat sits right opposite the paragliding landing site (just steps away) and is within easy walking distance of cafés and shops. We loved sipping our morning tea while watching paragliders drift across the sky.  

Accommodations & Comfort Our cottage was thoughtfully designed, spacious, and clean, with a cozy corner kitchenette, a smart TV, and a lovely garden or mountain view out the window. The amenities made our stay feel both comfortable and homey.  

Hospitality & Service The staff and hosts were open, friendly, and always ready to help, whether it was early check-in or guiding us on local adventures. Their warmth really made an impression.   

Facilities & Extras The property offers on-site dining (Indian, continental, and Asian), free parking, free Wi-Fi, a playground, and even an outdoor fireplace—everything felt well-planned, whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple, or a family.   

Overall Experience This retreat strikes a beautiful balance: it’s calm and scenic, yet just close enough to Bir’s cafes, paragliding spots, and markets. It felt luxurious without being pretentious—and perfect for a relaxing couples’ getaway.

Bir Valley Retreat is truly a hidden gem amidst the rapid commercialization of this beautiful valley in Himachal Pradesh. We couldn't have been happier to stumble upon this property while searching for our stay options. Since my friends and I planned to spend 7 nights in Bir, we were looking for a place that offered the comfort of home while being in a prime location—and Bir Valley Retreat exceeded all our expectations.

Located right at the heart of the town, the retreat is perfectly positioned—close enough to walk to major cafes within a kilometer on either side but far enough to escape the noise and chaos of the main road. For those lazy moments, the food at the property is so delicious that it keeps you coming back for more!

A special mention goes to Mr. Deepak, whose warm demeanor and impeccable service made our stay even more delightful. His ever-smiling face and attention to detail ensured we were comfortable, no matter the circumstances. Mr. Pawan also deserves a heartfelt thanks for promptly addressing any concerns we had and going above and beyond to make our stay smooth.
