It was very good trip .Number of Hotels are there from low range to high .||At a distance of 2km you can enjoy tracking, water falls near Bhasgunag temple.||But when we visited the trecking, it was off as the seasons are in winters to visit trecking, camping. It will again repoen from October. But you can go to nearby mountains with local guider.||Dalialama tample was also nice and you can learn about Buddhist religion. Without Mask there is no entry. From Mcleodganj there is also an Ropeway service available to dharamshala at the cost of 450 rupees per person up and down. It will take 10 to 12 min to reach dharmshala through Ropeway during winter season the ice blocks the road down through dharmshala which is hard to travel by road so for that situation the Ropeway is very helpful and useful. The Tibetan and Punjabi food was also very delicious in kangra guest house. If you want to explore the place a little more then you should only go by in week days just avoid Saturday and Sunday as the crowd and traffics are very high among these 2 days as the streets are also narrow so you will find difficulty walking on these 2 days, as the area is covered by cars...but for the week days you can enjoy yourself upto your fullest. The streets are also covered with Tibetan shops and culture you will observe that the number of quality and quantity are much more than that of any other states culture or shops....We also went to ask for paragliding, but we came to know that the season is from October to January u can visit to Mcleodganj during October to January for any extracurricular activities. There is also an Cricket stadium in Dharmshala that's also very astonishing and beautiful as for now when we went there it was under construction regardless of that the area was still maintained and cleaned by the authorities, so you can also visit there. And the distance of 2km there is also a tea garden as dharmshala is known widely for it's tea plantation so you can also visit there and enjoy...
Read moreThis place can give you mixed feelings in almost all aspects. Now here is why I call it a.mixed bag: Location - It is on the way to Dharamkot (from Mcleodganj) so it's scenic but if you wish to visit the market, it's recommended to hire a bike as multiple to & fro rounds could be tiring. Also, if you are not frequent with walking on hilly tarrain, it could be little tough as the distance is a km from market upwards. But, the blessing in disguise is the peace and calmness you get there. Parking - They have some space so you can park the vehicle outside. Since there is not much vehicular movement on that route, outside parking is not a problem. Rooms - these can be terms fine for couples or adults but not so for family with kids. The lights are dim and there is no common area kids can play. But the rooms have a rustic look that adds to the mysticism of the place. Also due to the location midst meadows, there could be an occasional bug in the room. I stayed in the top floor hut, which was a different experience (from regular hotels). The room has a nice balcony with small sofa, felt blissful to be there early morning and meditate. Evenings attract bugs so it is not recommended to be out or open the balcony door in the evenings. Food and Service - Fantastic! Amazing food and very well mannered, soft spoken staff. The Poha in breakfast is so great, it can give many Mumbai and Indore outlets a run for money. Though they serve dinner only till 9pm, if I am not wrong. Tarrif - very decent. 2k for 2 guys incl breakfast is good. Stay there, if you want to add an offbeat stay in...
Read moreOverall experience is very good.Rooms were spacious and clean ...one can enjoy the a good view of pine trees and valley from the balcony. It is very close to the main market place of mcleodganj though the place is very calm and serene (As the location of the home stay is not in the main market .Its location is almost 500 mts from the market place ).Room service and behaviour of the support staffs are very good. Especially I would like the mention about the homestay owner Mr Sahil Sarin whom we have contacted for any sort of doubts or help during our stay and he has helped us immediately with a very polite manner .Food was awesome.. At the same time I would also like to mention some issues which we have experienced. I am not mentioning those issues here as a grievance.Rather I am mentioning it here so that they can identify and resolve it later..I didn't mention during our stay since ,in day-1,we have checked in after 3pm and we used to come back at the home stay almost beyond 6/7 pm throughout two days of our stay after completing local sightseeing. The issues are: 1.Geyser in the room with terrace is not working. 2.There were chandeliers in the valley view room..But those were not in working condition. I know that the homestay owners could have resolved these issues if they had been informed. But we didn't want to disturb them at night since these are not very major issues to address. I would like to stay here again if I visit Mcleodganj in...
