Checked in on 26th Jan 24, checked out on 28th. Stay was a mixed experience
Positives: Good location. Very close to malls and restaurants Decent buffet spread for breakfast and dinner at Turquoise. Not over the top amazing, but works for sure. The rooftop bar is pretty awesome. In the right weather, it is rather pleasant to hang out, with pretty nice music playing. Service at restaurants are prompt
Negatives:
Housekeeping! We checked in at 2pm on 26th. We went out at around 4pm, and came back after 9pm. No turndown service was provided. We had to call and follow up for additional bottles of water. We again went out at 9am the next morning, and returned to our room at 1:30pm. No regular room cleaning was done. The bed was not made, the towels were not changed, and the trash cans were not cleared. We highlighted the issue later in the evening to the manager, who then along with the housekeeping in charge and the manager's boss (someone called a room division manager) came by to apologize. Then they started offering free stuff. On turning down the free stuff, the room division manager got frustrated and accused me of not working with him towards a solution! We then went out for dinner. We came back to the room post 9:30pm to find an abundance of towels, water bottles, and a jar of peanuts with a note. Next morning, a pastry was sent across to our room post breakfast, and my wife was handed a trinket during check out! The GM reached out via Whatsapp wanting to talk, but he addressed me by the wrong name, so I chose to ignore. In room dining tends to have longer an acceptable wait time. Plates are not cleared even after calling, but that may again be a housekeeping issue. Restaurant staff, while well meaning, are not polished. During our breakfast on 27th, people repeatedly came by and asked "do you need anything else". Please note that breakfast is a buffet, and the restaurant was less than 50% full, and we were still eating. In upscale eateries, "do you need anything else" is a code to either order more or call for the bill.
My recommendation would be to generally avoid this property for stays longer than a night. The restaurants and the roof top lounge are open for non residents, in case one needs dining options.
Bad rating due to a ruined experience. 1 extra star...
Read moreWe stayed in Hyderabad for a full month during which time we stayed at 4 different hotels (Trident, Vivanta, Courtyard and Marriott - all reviewed separately). Compared to each hotel we stayed at, Marriott was definitely the most disappointing especially given that we had paid for it as much as the Trident which was an exceptionally good hotel.
Upon entering the reception, none of the staff were interested in greeting us or even smiling. they were always busy talking or giggling amongst themselves. this did not happen to us at any of the other hotels where staff even used to come up to us after we came back to the hotel in the evenings to ask us how our day was. None of that at the Marriott and we would be lucky is any of the front desk staff even made eye contact. We were a group of 5 and we all felt this for the full 7-8 days we stayed here.
Breakfast spread was good but the service was again appalling. My elderly mother wanted to order some fresh pooris and one of the staff told her to take it from the buffet! At the Trident, Vivanta and Courtyard (and every other hotel I have stayed at in my life) our order was dealt with promptly even if it was available as part of the buffet. I asked for coffee one morning and I was shocked at the way the staff were carrying the cups: they were literally holding the cups at the mouth and not at the base!! I haven't seen that happen even in roadside eateries. I had to sanitise my cup before drinking from it.
We ordered a dressing gown for my mom to be brought to the room. My mom put it on and we realised that it was torn on the back, like it had holes! There were many such episodes, but after this dressing gown episode my father had a very long conversation with the hotel manager who was very attentive. After that, the staff started to show some interest in us but it felt extremely strained and forced. We couldn't be bothered by then because we were at the end of our stay there but we had really expected a lot more.
The room was an ok size and the hotel is fairly new so infrastructure wise it was nice. The hotel manager took on board all our complaints which was the only positive, service wise. Probably a good option for business travellers staying overnight or for a couple of nights only so wouldn't be too bothered by...
Read moreI stayed for 61 nights at Le Meridien Hotel Hyderabad, and from the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed. Mr. Raza from the Front Office greeted me with a genuine smile and ensured a smooth check-in. He patiently explained all the perks and benefits of my stay, which pleasantly surprised me with how much was included.||During my stay, breakfast was a highlight thanks to the attentive restaurant team and chefs. The breakfast staff were friendly and professional, quickly recognizing my preference for scrambled eggs every morning, which made me feel valued and well cared for.||The concierge team, including Mr. Naik, Mr. Arif, Mr. Vamshi, and others, consistently impressed me with their hospitality. They arranged timely transportation for me and my team to the office every day, making our commute hassle-free.||A special shoutout to the housekeeping team, especially Dikray and Bhawna (apologies if I misspelled your names). They paid great attention to detail when cleaning my room, arranging my toiletries and extra pillows thoughtfully, which made my room very comfortable. Also, the gentleman who delivered my laundry every evening at 6:30 PM did an excellent job throughout my 61-night stay!||Guest relations team member Mansi was always cheerful and greeted us warmly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.||Having worked in the hotel industry for 13 years, I know that good rooms, facilities, and food are expected standards, but what makes a hotel truly exceptional is its staff. From security at the entrance, to reception, breakfast, housekeeping, and concierge—Le Meridien’s team made all the difference.||Thank you, Le Meridien, for making my stay feel like a home away from home. Special thanks to Mr. Raza and Mr. Arif for the exceptional service—from arranging daily transport, fulfilling additional amenity requests, to Mr. Arif's personal tour of Hyderabad, and Mr. Raza’s thoughtful arrangements like flowers and chocolates for my wife’s arrival.||If I were to sum up my stay in one sentence: It was peace amidst the bustling city of Hyderabad, made possible by the fantastic staff...
