A vast and well maintained garden that's teeming with countless species of flora, and a few but variety of fauna as well, especially when it comes to birds. I visited the Botanical Garden on a weekday evening, and the crowds were quite sparse which made the evening walk a very calming and peaceful experience.
The longest circuit of the garden is about 3.5 Kms and took me around 40-50 minutes to cover the distance leisurely. There are toilet facilities present at various points across the garden. The park provides electric buggies as a mode of travel within the park, convenient for those who prefer to cover the park quicker (in which case, try slowing down a little :) ), or as assistance for people with limited mobility.
The botanical garden is still quite young, which is evident with the flora as it still exudes the vibrance of a park than a garden. That being said, it is certainly on track to looking like a full fledged and a vibrant botanical garden, thanks to the excellent upkeep and maintenance of the garden.
Some gripes I would have of the garden is that the cost of the monthly and yearly passes are a tad bit high. However, observing the park being quite well maintained and operated, I'd say it's reasonable. The park also offers dedicated parking space which is situated on the opposite side of the main entrance, i.e. the other side of the main road. It is quite a challenge and a pretty risky experience to be able to cross from the other side of the road to reach the garden entrance as you are expected to cross a very busy main road with no pedestrian signals to help you cross. If you happen to visit the garden by car, I would suggest to reach the garden entrance first to drop your family / friends off at the gate, and then proceed to park your car on the opposite side to avoid the hassle of fighting the incoming traffic just to...

This area is Flourished with horticulture, picnic spots, rock formations, and sprawling meadows, this park can switch on your fitness game too with its outdoor gym. Spread across a 120-acre area of land in the Kothaguda Reserve Forest, this park is said to have nearly 600 species of plants. The moment you enter it, you’ll be greeted by bougainvillea and natural rock formations. Walk a little further to discover clean gazebos and straw huts with humble seating.
Modelled as dry forest, it attracts various insects and birds. And oh, watch out for those frisky and feisty squirrels that are more than willing to accompany you on your walks. The trees are conveniently labeled with their names and family. A large section of land is also allocated for succulents and cactus, while the walls are being prepped for...
Read moreThis is my second visit after a very long gap of like may be 6 or 8 yrs by now... The place has changed and I can't really recollect all that we have in memories.
However the place is good for potluck or picnic with family or groups
Saw peacock and squirrels roaming around with few rare birds which we hardly see in our daily lives.
The grass was not as green as it used to be and water bodies have also changed. They indeed have few gym workouts and boating.
Seems like other activities such as trampoline and tree walk are not available at the moment.
They also have a party place which can be booked for 7k INR (not sure what are going to offer in that party pack)
Parking is a drawback as people have to park the vechiles on the other side of the road where they have a dedicated parking area. Problem ia that we have to cross a road where vechiles pace at high speeds. More over there is a flyover being constructed and it's entrance is exactly before the entrance of this place. Not sure how they would manage to use the parking when the flyover is open for traffic.
They also charge for vechile parking ( though it's just an open area with no proper planned parking)
Entrance ticket of 25 rupees for adults is reasonable but the entry charges with food (picnic or potluck)is again hiked to next level.
Overall since we do not have many parks in hyderabad, this place makes a good outing for city dwellers but I wonder how can it resist such a...
