We stayed at the sharhar Palace for 2 nights in Feb 2018. It clearly was a fairly grand building once. However unfortunately it has been neglected and I would not recommend staying here.||The hotel could be a fabulous place, however there were several issues with our stay.||Positives|Location is OK for exploring jaipur|The hotel staff were helpful our first night when we wanted to arrange going to the bazaar.|There is a nice garden area to sit in||Negatives|1. The electrical wiring is really old and unsafe. The light panel had a crack in it and was taped together. The lights flickered when you switched on/off a plug and my partner got an electric shock from one of the plugs.||2. The noise from the train at night and the cockerel in the morning meant i didn't get a good night's sleep.||3. The owner insisted on burning wood as soon as the sun started going down. This lead to the whole place filling up with smoke which permeated into our room. The grounds filled with smoke so sitting outside was unpleasant.||4. The bed sheets were dirty and did not fit the mattress. So we ended up waking up lying directly on the mattress.||5. The sink was not properly attached to the wall.||6. The A.C. unit in the room did not work.||Overall it was not an enjoyable stay and I would...

It is a picturesque hotel. Just like the image describes. Open space. Lots of trees. They evoke a good feeling.
But the good things end here. The rooms are small. My bed mattress was deformed at one place. The TV was working but there were no working channels. The wifi password mentioned on their kitchen menu does not work. Their furniture is creaky and has chipped paint. The washroom are clean, but the plumbing leaks every now and then. The shower has no pressure. Lights are erratic. A single no-name soap is provided in the name of toiletry. The AC works, but is very loud. I feel for the money they charge, they are not providing its worth.
Hotel is looked after by the owner who also has their home in the center. They have dogs. And they do what dogs do. Bark at unknown people. And it is not ok.
90 percent of the time, there is no one at reception. Gist is, go there if you liked what you saw in photos. The view is great. It is a great place to wake up and have a cup of tea. But that is it.
Metro is nearby. Railway station and bus stand is...

We reached the place at very odd time in night at around 02:00am. But the owner did open the gates and let us in. He did express his discomfort but then he also provided us with anything we needed at that odd time.
I loved the balcony in front of rooms and the premises. It’s good. I couldn’t interact with anyone else as we went for sight seeing the next day.
People traveling with a bus should keep in mind that there is no parking inside. Cars and mini vans can definitely be accommodated. We had a bus and it was a little hustle to search for parking at night. This place is located in a very good locality but is slightly off to city centre. It’s around 10 to 20 mins drive to anywhere you want to go depending on traffic and place.
But I will definitely recommend it to some one else as i experienced very good vibes all around it and Shanti amidst the...
