I recently stayed at The Hotel Jaipur (formerly known as Hotel Jaipur Ashok) and my experience was nothing short of delightful. Managed by The Rajasthan State Hotels Corporation Limited.
Nestled in the Bani Park, one of the most high-profile locations, the hotel offers a serene and picturesque setting. The four-acre property provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, while still being just a few minutes' drive away from Hawa Mahal Jaipur.
The hotel stands out for its impeccable hospitality, catering especially to the economic traveler. The staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to assist, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms were clean, spacious, and with all necessary amenities. The hotel offers a variety of room categories to suit different preferences and budgets, including:
Heritage Suite: Experience luxury and elegance with a touch of heritage charm.
Deluxe Suite: Enjoy a comfortable and spacious stay with upgraded amenities.
Standard Deluxe: A perfect blend of comfort and affordability.
Economic: Ideal for budget-conscious travelers without compromising on quality.
Positives: Restaurant Inside Hotel: The hotel features an in-house restaurant offering a variety of dishes. Though, I would recommend to eat lunch/dinner outside as there are many excellent nearby options available
Free Breakfast: Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast with decent options to kickstart their day.
Ample Free Parking: There is plenty of free parking space available, making it convenient for those traveling by car.
Auto Rickshaws Available: You can easily find auto rickshaws right at the hotel gate, making local travel hassle-free.
Nearby Attractions: The hotel is conveniently located close to popular attractions like Albert Museum and Hawa Mahal.
Negatives: Old CRT TV in Rooms: Many rooms are equipped with old CRT TVs, which might not meet the expectations of modern travelers.
Old Toiletries: The toiletries provided in the rooms could use an update to better match the overall quality of the hotel.
Unguarded Parking: The parking area is unguarded, which might be a concern for some guests.
One of the major advantages of The Hotel Jaipur is its convenient location. Just a mere 5-10 minutes' drive from both the Jaipur Railway Station and the Inter State Bus Station, it is an ideal choice for travelers who want to experience the charm of the old city while enjoying...
Read moreThis has to be by far the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. Me and my family stayed for 2 days, and we didn't really spend a whole lot of time on the premises, but the time that was spent here led me to this conclusion. First off, the rooms are extremely outdated and dirty. The TV is easily 20 years old and dysfunctional. The paint on the walls is falling off, and it just doesn't feel comfortable or liveable at all. The mattress is too short for the bed, giving it an awkward stance. No AC or furnace/heater. Stone hard mattress. The restroom is fine but you get zero amenities. Only 2 sachets of shampoo and a bar of soap. No hand soap, hand towels, hair conditioner, hair dryer, toothbrush or toothpaste or even a comb. I believe the items listed above are quite general and can be found in the cheapest of hotels. The toilet was having a plumbing issue. Water kept flowing from the tank, also the flush wasn't a typical one there was a bar which you have to pull and just seemed so very outdated. Usually small things like neatless make up for it but in this case even that wasn't there, there was dust everywhere, we found a dead cockroach in the closet. The lamps are lopsided. Just horrible.
The food is okay, but they only have like 6 things on their menu, and they barely change it. Also, no one clears the plates from the tables once the customer is done eating. Once you order food, it takes them a minimum of 20 minutes even though they are literally making the same food for everyone.
I'm sure it's not the worst hotel but it'd certainly be...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience
If I could, I would give this establishment 0 stars. I once held Rajasthan tourism in high regard, but this hotel shattered that perception entirely.
Upon our arrival, even though we reached by 1 pm due to a delayed train, we were left waiting for a staggering 2 hours past the official 12 pm check-in time. This forced delay coerced us into dining at the hotel restaurant since we had our luggage to manage. Unfortunately, the restaurant's service mirrored the hotel's inefficiency, taking an excruciating 40 minutes just to serve our food.
The room amenities were another letdown. Absence of doormats and extra towels highlighted the lack of attention to basic guest needs. Additionally, the absence of an intercom system and the painfully slow lift only compounded our frustrations. The state of the bathrooms further underscored the hotel's neglect in maintenance.
Perhaps the most disheartening aspect was the demeanor of the reception staff. Their lack of courtesy was glaring, and I sensed an intent to overcharge us, especially when they couldn't provide clear and proper bill receipts.
In summary, my stay at this hotel was marred by delays, subpar amenities, and a staff that seemed more interested in cutting corners than ensuring guest satisfaction. I strongly advise future travelers to consider other...
