Here is my honest (lengthy) review of this hotel.
I checked in to the hotel at about 4pm. Up until the night time, I had a very positive outlook of the hotel, and this could have been a 5 star review.
The front desk receptionist was polite and showed me the room before check-in upon request, the room service was prompt, when I asked for clean towels and water bottle, the room and the restroom were moderately clean, it was air-conditioned, and most of all, it was budget friendly.
So this is why it turned out to be a bad experience and a 2 star review. The hotel staff were playing loud music in the lobby/reception on their phones. Some were playing games, some were listening to music, and others were playing meme videos, almost all the time...
I went to bed at around 10pm, but the soundproofing in the room was so bad, that I could hear even if someone talks softly at the reception. The doors had a huge gap all around. I am a light sleeper and sensitive to noise. The music stopped at about 11pm so I finally went to sleep. They started playing again at 11:30pm and woke me up. I called the reception and asked to keep it down and I could not sleep. He agreed and the music stopped. They started playing loud music again at 12:30am and woke me up, and I lost my temper. I walked out to the reception and started shouting at the receptionist. All he had to say was that he had just arrived and he didn't know. I might have resorted to swearing which I usually don't, but I apologised for it the next day. He also had his entire staff gather, and had the audacity to ask me to vacate the room. When I threatened to call the cops on them, they backed off.
But ultimately, the fact remains that I was not able to get a single minute of sleep that night. Once I lose my temper, I can't go back to normal for quite sometime and need time to recover from the trauma.
Me being a local from Mangalore who has his friends and relatives living all around, had taken the room just to get some sleep, which I was deprived of. I wanted to avoid the moral obligation of staying over at anyone's house, but this hotel turned out to be a nightmare.

Read moreThe pictures given are misleading, which were taken during the property inauguration. Actuals are beyond the realm of imagination. The property is not being maintained well. Subsequently, it becomes a breeding ground for cockroaches. The rooms were crowded with cockroaches, followed by a dirty bathroom, dusty rooms and dirty walls. Half of the switches and lights were not functioning. In no way are the room charges justified. The name AK International implies that we don't expect an international standard, but only a decent standard that won't disrupt sleep. Regrettably, we delivered rooms that were of poor quality at a higher price.
The actual owner of the property must urgently address these maintenance and cleanliness issues.
Nevertheless, the staff's behavior is outstanding and helpful, which is the best thing in hotel.

Every corner of the room is untidy and stained. They didn't maintain it. AC went off during night and cooling isn't better for a nap👎. Not satisfied with the pillow and sheets they provided. Bathroom is stinky and the drainage system isn't working properly. The waste water doesn't drain and seems to like a small pond . The bed were totally stained and some portions were burned🤷.
