Grand Mercure - one of the luxurious star hotel in Mysuru. We have been regular here but this time came almost after 2 years. It was a mix of experiences this time. Looks like lot of things have changed especially the overall service. To begin with it took a very long time to check in even though i had checked in online previous day. Had conveyed my room preferences almost a month back while making reservation however Tanuja ( from Reservations) completely denied it. She was daring enough to say that a customer is lying rather being apologetic of the miss from her end. Post that they assigned a room that was half cleaned after a checkout. We had to go thru a huddle of checking 3 rooms and finally could settle down in one Raveen ( Manager - FO) was a great help during this process and ensured we are able to settle soon. Not only during this time in-fact Raveen was very helpful throughout the stay and left no stone unturned to make our stay very comfortable. His colleague Rihaan also ensured to follow his footsteps and made memorable bday presentation. Restaurant - at one point the food was amazing nd they will even customise it basis your taste buds however their service was very poor. Special callout for their head chef - Kishan who monitored the overall service too. It was truly because of him our food was taken care. Lastly coming to the rooms. Housekeeping staff was perfect. They always had our room decked up on time and ensured things are available without ask. However during our last day , found a reptile in our room. Quite shocking to see and first ever exp in any Star Hotels. It was very scary especially with small kids with us. Lastly it was Raveen for rescue. Just 2 years back this was a luxury , classy place to stay however i may not recommend this anymore if one is looking for a classy, relaxed stay. Its only because of employees like Raveen ( Manager) , Kishan ( Head Chef) and Sanjay ( Manager) that this place is happening. Hotel needs more people like them to make customer experience better.

Read moreVery very small rooms. Highly uncomfortable stay already. Myself Pavithra Srinivas booked 2 rooms for 2 nights for my self with 2 year old kid husband and my parents. Even with informing earlier. They gave us small rooms. It was not cleaned properly. very difficult to give bath to my kid. I informed them that kid is there kindly provide larger space. Not everyone will ask. They are biased to foreigners. I regularly visit Mysore from Bangalore and we usually stay with Sourhern star Radisson. I wanted to try and stay in a different place and hence I choose 5 stay stay. However these ppl are very weird. I am unhappy with my stay. And will never return again. Also I asked for baby crib and they did not provide. I don’t know how I can adjust in this room for 2 days. UNHAPPY STAY FOR MY VACATION. I even spoke to the duty manager and he as also unable to help. Sometimes u need to consider just not money but also some good gestures. I asked for atleast one single room could be big enough for the kid to atleast move around. How can bathroom be so congested for a 5 star property. Even ginger stays rooms are better. Not 5 star. Rooms were not at all clean. They are biased towards Indians and Foreigners. The front desk on call managers are horrible. They are not so happy to serve the guests at all. Basic items like toiletries were missing in the room and on repeated requests. They did not provide the necessary items on time. Also the baby cot I requested was not placed in the room and even after request they did not give. Our vacation was horrible because of the stay I must say. Also to add to the above. There are better hotels to stay in mysore. This is far from the city at the exit to Bangalore. Weird. Even though whole hotel was vacant on Sunday night. On Monday night also we were not given an upgrade of room considering that baby needs more space to move around. They don’t have the policy to serve best...
Read moreRecently, we stayed at Grand Mercure Mysore.||The pros:|- I liked their room and the beds that were given to us it was comfortable. ||- their lobby had a good atmosphere||- the hotel location is kind of near to the market area (clock tower) and Mysore Palace.|||However, I would not recommend this hotel for the following reasons.|||Firstly, they should have more people at the reception to attend to their guests needs as it took quite a long time for us to get checked in and check out. |||Secondly, their breakfast selections are too bad for a 5 star standard as there weren't that many varieties. It was more of a 4 star standard. Also, I do not like the service at the breakfast area as the staffs/waiters are not really well trained as they were not providing the service of how a 5 star hotel waiters should possess. I felt like I was having my breakfast at some ordinary restaurant. ||Therefore, I will recommed people to stay at some other 5 star hotels like Radisson Blu Mysore as I believe that they will provide a better service as how a 5 star hotel should be. I remember on our way to the Chamundeshwari Temple, I saw the Radission blu hotel, it looked like a palace and it was massive and beautiful.||Therefore, i believe that if you stay at Radisson Blu you will be able to enjoy the real 5 star facilities and services for almost the same price that you will be paying for this hotel. |||I have stayed in other mercure/accor group hotels and they were fantastic. However, this one was really disappointing and was not really up...
