Mathura Residency — Hotel in Karnataka

We stayed at this place in an non-AC double bed room for 3 days as my daughter had her Taekwondo Black belt examination in the nearby Nehru Indoor stadium. Though our stay in the hotel room was very less compared to the time we spent outside, here are my 2 cents of advise for the people who are planning to visit Shimoga and eyeing this property :)||Pros: Safe hotel to stay with family, Alcohol prohibited, lift facility available, Morning newspaper available, pleasant receptionist / owner, ever helpful room boy, huge rooms, Peps spring coil bed (2 single beds joined to make a double bed), functional switches in the room, rooms with mosquito net fitted windows (no need to carry mosquito repellent with you- you will hardly come across any mosquitoes in the room), white bed spread with 2 blankets, clean cupboard and furniture, hot water in the morning, clean toilet and functional taps, Clean steel buckets in the bathroom, 2 soaps and towels provided, Walkable distance to Gandhi park, Nehru stadium, Mall, Cinema theatre, railway station (auto charges Rs.30), Market area, Restaurant below the hotel (serves veg food) ordinary food but a tad expensive, Parking available, Economic room tariff.||Cons: No hand shower provided for European closet, Pillow covers are clean - but pillows are not, Wooden chairs are neat and strong - but cushions are way too old and needs to be changed||||In a nutshell - Ideal place to stay without burning a hole in your pocket if you are planning to...

Horrible hotel with horrible stinking rooms..the attitude of the person in the reception n the room boy is the worst.They don't know the meaning of Hospitality.The curtains,carpets are not washed from years.They give wet towels n when i asked them, they say its Malnad n because of rains the towels wont dry.We stayed in AC suit room n if that stinks so horribly then just imagine other rooms. I m sure even the rugs given are not washed. The screen diving the hall n room has lost its color totally.There is a lot of powercut n u hv to wait for 10 mins everytime to get light n ac working.W e stayed just for one night n i fell sick .I don't know if there are any authorities to check these kind of hotels.When i gave my feedback to the receptionist in the morning, he was so rude n spoke as if he doesn't care.Before taking this stinking horrible AC suite, when i checked the other rooms, i couldn't even stand there for a minute.As it was late in the night, we had no idea of other hotels, we had to stay here.The room boy expected us to lock the doors of the other rooms we had seen before this as its too much work for him. Also when AC did not switch on immediately, n we asked, he said"It will take 10 mins n anyways if it doesn't work, u can call me or don't disturb me"..I was surprised at the way these people behaved n for having spent Rs.1500 for a night in that hotel n getting the gift of falling sick.My sincere advice pls pls pls do not go...

I'm extremely disappointed with my stay at this lodge. Despite having a decent location, the room was infested with bed bugs. It was unbearable and made my entire stay uncomfortable. The lack of cleanliness and attention to detail was shocking.

I would not recommend this lodge to anyone until they address their pest control issues. Cleanliness is a basic expectation, and this lodge failed to meet it.
