A comfortable hotel for stay and remote working... that is how Hotel Fort Queen worked for me. On a personal travel for family functions + tourism, I was looking for a comfortable stay. Good internet connectivity was a must, as I also had one day of remote working factored into the travel. The Hotel turned out to be a perfect choice. Closer to many of the prominent residential locations around Fort Cochin, function locations were just a walk away. As it was peak summer, we preferred to take auto rickshaws, that were easily available once we step out of the hotel. All tourist destinations are also accessible by auto rickshaws - within 2-3 Kms distance. The in-house restaurant was a good discovery. Food was nice and the service was good too. When we were getting delayed for the complimentary breakfast, the staff dialed to the room and offered to delivery food to the room. Staff at the reception (Aldrin and Shalu) are very courteous. They obliged for a delayed checked-out and enabled all the help required to ensure our stay was comfortable. The only point of discomfort was a bar on the ground floor. The bar access is away from the main entrance, but the place remains busy till late night. The rooms on this side may experience some noise associated with vehicle movement and...
Read moreI didn't stay in the hotel, so this is a review of the restaurant and the bar. The restaurant staff are very good - they're attentive and friendly and there's plenty of waiters on-hand for the times when the People's Republic of China descend with empty bellies. The food is a bit disappointing - the chef has an unhealthy obsession with salt - enough to raise anyone's blood-pressure! The portions are fine but the ingredients are poorer quality than you'd expect in quite a posh hotel - expect bones and gristle.
The bar downstairs is a bit of a dive. Dark and broody. Okay for a guy with a few thoughts to mull. Not compatible with long-term human well-being. The toilet is toxic. I bought two beers and wanted to tip the waiter a couple of 10s - so asked for change - he gave me two 50s. Booze is also available in...

It's a good hotel ... They do serve good food but yes a bit of delay is there... Hope it was due to the season coz...
