Fortis Rooms Homestay,Cochin — Hotel in Kerala

I want to say a huge thank you to the host family at Fortis Rooms. Rinzin in particular was so kind, patient and helpful, from recommending places to eat, booking me a taxi to Munnar at a very good price, retrieving a passport and money I had stupidly left behind (!) and so much more. The property is only a 5 minute tuktuk ride (costing just ~50 rupees) to the main sights of Fort Kochi so a good location. My room was comfortable and quiet with working fan and good AC. The water was always hot and the internet connection strong. I loved that they provided a water refill station to reduce plastic use. I had omelette, fresh fruit and tea for breakfast which was delicious and other guests had the traditional Keralan breakfast and said it was very good too. Excellent. Fortis rooms is a Homestay, similar to a B&B. Although the rooms are basic and utilities are basic also. The service from the owners/family there was above and beyond. Extremely friendly and helpful. We were made to feel most welcome and any questions we asked were happily answered or accommodated. I was worried about asking too much but they obliged Everytime. Obviously they are a business so might charge for things like washing…..but it was extremely reasonable and much cheaper than anywhere else I’ve stayed. The family was super friendly and welcoming. I was able to check in in the middle of the night. The room was very cute and clean. Bathroom with hot water.
