I stayed here recently and honestly, except for the beautiful view, everything else about this hotel was disappointing. Unhelpful Staff – The staff were rude and inconsistent. One person would say something, another would contradict it. I was traveling with my 18-month-old child and when I requested milk at midnight, they bluntly refused. A good hotel would have at least tried to make arrangements, but here there was no sense of hospitality at all. No Supportive Facilities – Despite multiple requests, no one checked or fixed the Wi-Fi. Normally, I rely on my own mobile network, but in this area there was no network coverage, which made working impossible without Wi-Fi. Still, the staff didn’t care. Room Upgrade – When I enquired about an upgrade, they quoted almost double of what I had already paid. I only requested a nominal charge, but they were rigid and inflexible. Cleanliness Issues – The bedsheet had stains (I have pictures). Management may try to blame guests, but this was already there when we checked in. Language Barrier – Some staff were polite, but they couldn’t understand even basic English, making communication frustrating. Basic Amenities Missing – No kettle to keep milk warm for a child. The milk provided from the restaurant was not even in a thermostat kettle, which made it useless after a short time. The pool water had excessive chlorine. And shockingly, no fridge in the room. I stayed in Munnar, Thekkady, and Alleppey, all in basic category rooms, and every single one of them had a fridge. The excuse given here was “this is a basic room so no fridge” – but when you are charging ₹4,000 per night and still calling it “basic,” it’s simply unacceptable. You provide AC but no fridge? Shameful. Accessibility – There is no direct access to the beach from this property, which is misleading for anyone expecting a beachside stay. Even reaching the hotel itself is inconvenient. Dining & Billing Experience – Guests are not allowed to simply sit in their café without ordering. On top of that, instead of adding charges to the room bill, they force you to pay immediately, as if guests are going to run away leaving their luggage behind. Misleading Photos – The pictures shown online are technically real, but here’s the catch: they are mostly clicked during sunset, when the vibrant colors of the property give a beautiful background. That’s why the photos look far better than the actual experience. In reality, everything is just “ok-ok.”

👉 This was my experience as a parent traveling with a small child. If you are going without kids, this place might be a better option because of the view. But keep in mind – the first-category rooms don’t fit the budget, and even then, they don’t provide a fridge (so forget about keeping even a beer chilled).

In short: ✔️ Only the view is worth it. ❌ Staff are unprofessional and unfriendly. ❌ Facilities and service are below basic standards. ❌ No direct beach access, no network, and useless Wi-Fi. ❌ Overpriced for the value provided.

This was a very bad experience and I would not recommend this property to families or anyone expecting real hospitality. Management should remember they are dealing with people, not just...

We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely resort in Varkala with our family of four, checking in on September 24th at 6 pm and checking out the next day around 1 pm. Our experience was filled with both positive and challenging moments.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the reception staff, a delightful lady and gentleman, who were incredibly cordial and helpful. They took the time to show us around the property, giving us a choice of rooms. We decided to opt for a room across the road because it offered more space, even though the rooms near the pool looked tempting.

Our first evening was serene. After checking in, we strolled along the beautiful walkway and enjoyed a delicious dinner. However, when we returned around 9 pm, we encountered a hiccup – the extra bed we had requested was missing from our room. Regrettably, the staff member at the reception at this time was not as welcoming and, frankly, quite rude. We were informed that room service ended at 8:30 pm, and it seemed impossible to provide an extra bed at that hour. Frustrated, we contemplated finding an alternative resort.

But here's where the narrative takes a positive turn. The receptionist, realizing our situation, decided to go the extra mile and provided a hard worn out bed and pillow around 10 pm. Though it was late, we managed to make do with this arrangement for the night. However, we encountered another issue as hot water was unavailable this time, and we received the same response as before.

The following day, things significantly improved. The resort had a clean and inviting swimming pool, and we were pleased to enjoy a decent breakfast. Our kids had a fantastic time splashing in the pool, and we relished the morning meal.

In summary, our stay at this resort had its ups and downs, but the positive aspects ultimately made our experience memorable. The warm welcome from the initial reception staff, the spacious room, and the enjoyable facilities like the clean swimming pool and breakfast were definite highlights. While there were hiccups with the responsiveness of room service and hot water, the staff's efforts to rectify the situation showed their commitment to guest satisfaction.

All in all, we had a pleasant time, and we'd consider returning for another stay, keeping in mind the little room for improvement in responsiveness during late hours. This resort offers a lot to appreciate, and with a few tweaks, it could easily become a top-notch...

Really a pathetic experience choosing krishnatheeram this time. We went there earlier also. But this time was a mistake booking here. Positives : (1)The scenic beauty and the sea view from pool (2) Service of a doctor is available. Wife had a spain and the treatment was very effective (3) Staffs are very well behaved Negatives : Mentioning few things only as the list is long (1) If you are planning to bring luggages , you only have to take it to the room. There is no service boy or helper in the resort even after charging Rs 5250 per room per night (2) You are lucky if you get a room with mini refrigerator. We booked two rooms one of which doesnt had a mini fridge. On enquiry they informed that there is no other fridge and if we need they can transfer the fridge in one room to another (3) They will give you plates to have food only if you order food from their expensive menu. Otherwise we need to pay Rs 10 per disposable plate which they provide. This is the attitude even after charging Rs 5250 for a non sea view room per night. I think money is everything for these people. Service is given least importance for the money (4) The biggest problem. You feel like staying in a dark kennel in the night. Resort is full of stray dogs who didnt allow us to sleep at night. My child was awake upto midnight due to this. Dogs even tried to take away our snacks which we were having sitting just outside our room. The atmosphere was very terrific. (5) There is no value for money we are giving. Not even a brush or tooth kit in the bathroom . There was only one towel in the room for three of us including our child. No extra towel was provided even after repeated reminders. These are the things which i experienced prima facie. With this outing , we decided not to book Krishnatheeram again as we dont want our holidays to be in such money centric resort with no value...

We had a truly amazing holiday at Krishnatheeram Resort — one of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences we’ve ever had! We stayed for a week with my wife, our 11-year-old daughter, and our elderly parents, looking for a relaxing family getaway combined with Ayurvedic treatments to feel healthier and rejuvenated. The resort has an excellent Ayurvedic doctor who provides a thorough consultation and prescribes tailored treatments with massages and satvic (vegetarian Ayurvedic) meals. Our days began with yoga by the beach led by a skilled instructor, followed by nourishing meals, rejuvenating massages, and time by the pool with stunning sea views. The team gave special attention to each family member and consistently went above and beyond with their service. After seven days, all of us — including our parents and daughter — felt deeply relaxed, grounded, and re-energized. The ocean views and peaceful location added so much to the experience. A special thanks to Sujit and Vaisha, who welcomed us warmly every day and took extra care to make our stay comfortable. This is not a luxury 5-star hotel, so some rooms and facilities show their limitations, but the value for money is truly exceptional. We highly recommend Krishnatheeram Resort if you’re looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday with healthy food, authentic Ayurvedic treatments, and a breathtaking view of the ocean. Plus, the location is great — close to restaurants, cafés, shops, and plenty of entertainment options.

A Night to Remember: Dining at Varkala Cliff There's something magical about dining on the edge of a cliff, overlooking the vast expanse of the ocean. This is exactly what I experienced at a cliff-side restaurant in Varkala. The ambiance was breathtaking, with the sound of the waves complementing the delicious seafood served. The food was not just good; it was exceptional. The flavors of the local cuisine were evident in every bite, and the seafood was fresh, cooked to perfection, and, surprisingly, it didn't break the bank. It's not often that you find a place that offers such quality at prices that are budget-friendly. But what truly set the experience apart was the service. The staff was patient and attentive, ensuring that our evening was enjoyable. Their dedication to their work and the warmth they showed to us made the meal even more delightful. And then there was the weather. The gentle sea breeze added to the charm of the evening, making it a perfect night out with friends. It's these little things that turn a simple dinner into a cherished memory. If you ever find yourself in Varkala, don't miss out on the chance to dine at this cliff-side gem. It's an experience that you and your taste buds will not forget anytime soon.
