Tl;dr - Bunch of racists running a sorry excuse of a business(or whatever you call it)

I have seen bad places, but this one takes the cake. The atmosphere is horrendous. Apparently, there was a ‘party,’ and we were invited to join by our fellow hostellers. We were told beforehand that the entry fee was Rs 500 per person, and I thought, ‘That works, let’s check it out.’ I went to the ‘party’ (extremely average—or rather, it wouldn’t be a mistake to call it below average), but then I noticed that the staff were specifically targeting Indians for money, while others were allowed to enter for free.

I pointed it out and asked why. They said the foreigners are regulars and would attend a ‘fest’ they planned to organize later, so the management wasn’t charging them. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, I later saw another hosteller, an Italian who had just arrived in Varkala that same day, who wasn’t asked to pay either. At that point, I began to suspect that they were specifically targeting Indians for money with the excuse of a party. My suspicions were confirmed when I asked my foreign hosteller friends (some of whom had been in Varkala for quite some time), and they said it was a ridiculous excuse and not true at all. They wanted to stand up for us, but I suggested we ask the staff ourselves first.

When I confronted the staff, they replied (and I quote), ‘It is our event, so we have the right to decide who we charge. If you don’t like it, you can leave.’ Under his breath, the staff member muttered, ‘This has been a daily drama.’

By their logic, I think if I trained my dog to take a crap in front of their resort every day, they shouldn’t have a problem because my dog, his crap, and the dogs has the right to decide where he goes to crap, and I have the right to instruct him however I want. My foreigner friends called them ‘pathetic’ and left. I guess their actions didn’t go over well with the people whose validation they were desperate to get. I wish there were a rating lower than...

AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!

I'm still fuming after the disastrous experience my friends and I had last night. The hotel's incompetence and blatant disregard for customer satisfaction have left me feeling angry, disappointed, and utterly betrayed.

We arrived at 9:10 pm, excited to try their supposedly excellent food. But what followed was an hour-long nightmare. The server took ages to take our order, and when he finally did, he informed us that they couldn't serve two of the dishes we ordered (beef steak and beef burger). Unbelievable!

We settled for alternative options (chicken grill and ghee rice), but the kitchen's ineptitude continued to shine. The pasta arrived promptly, but the chicken took an eternity. When we inquired about the status of our order, the server had the audacity to tell us it would take ANOTHER 30 MINUTES!

That's when I lost it. How can a hotel be so clueless about customer expectations? Don't they know that people have better things to do than wait around for their food? The server's nonchalant attitude only added insult to injury.

To add the final nail to the coffin, the server offered to cancel our order and presented us with the bill. Are you kidding me?! After wasting our time and ruining our evening, they expected us to pay for the privilege?!

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS HOTEL! Their food is mediocre, their service is abysmal, and their management is clearly clueless.

Worst dining experience ever! We came here from suggestion by local people and my friend. The ambiance might be okay, but the service is absolutely horrible. We ordered steak, a classic burger, and pasta initially. After 15 minutes, they casually informed us that the steak and burger were unavailable, forcing us to change our order to ghee rice and tandoori chicken. With an expectation to have some food.

The pasta was eventually served, with no surprise it tasted below average. We waited over 45 minutes for the rest of the order with no updates. The staff clearly didn’t care, and their attitude was appalling. When we followed up, we got a dismissive response: "We make it fresh, it will take time." Really? Over 45 minutes for tandoori chicken and ghee rice ? What kind of joke is this?

We finally told them to cancel the order, if it’s take more time. and it took another 10 minutes. The staff came and said we canceled order for you. Ideally staff should confirm with customer saying it will take this much amount of time is that ok or should we cancel that order - not unilateral decisions. staff are clueless, rude, and completely unprofessional.
