This is the wost hotel to stay in Thekkady...I would not even recommend this hotel to my enemy. The Hotel has a huge fraud of booking going on in tourist season. They have about 50 rooms & they more than 50 bookings for the day...( I feel they take about 50 % more bookings). They charge about 2500 Rs for a delux room. When you reach the hotel they will say that the hotel is overbooked for the day & will specially try for your....they pretend making calls to other hotels.Then they say they have specially arranged a hotel for you in the peak season.All this dram goes till 1-2 hrs & finally you have no choice but to stay in their recommended hotel. Actually they book these DIRTY GUEST HOUSES & HOMESTAY at rates about Rs 500. So you pay more & stay in these home stay because in peak season you have no option left & the hotel earns good profit showing you good photos, excellent location but actually putting you up is a dirty homestay away form the hotel location. Even if you call them to confim booking before reaching they say it is confirmed, so that you endup in theire trap....I have seen this drama happening for 2 days....... I had done bookings for 2 days.On the 1st day I was made to wait with my family for 2 hrs & finally had no choice but to stay in dirty home stay. On the 2nd day they provided me room in the hotel...of which I had to take the entire pain to shift my luggage...The rooms are very small & very very dirty....Even the delux rooms have no AC...there is not room service, the intercom doesn't work...even if it works the guy on other side says there is no one & if you need any thing you have to get it yourself..The hotel has hot water form 5 am to 10 am...after that if you ask them for hot water they bluntly refuse & say they will not provide.The hotel staff is extremly arrogant & irresponsible... All the guests staying in this hotel had compliaints...but the hotel management seems only to be intrested to overbook their hotel & CHEAT the helpless tourists.So if you want to pay more, stay in a guest house full of mosquitos or in dirty rooms where you have to carry even your tea to the room & get yourself hopless excuses from an arogant receptionist & spoil your holiday you book...
   Read moreTerrible Experience of my travel life. I booked 4 super deluxe room for 2 days on 21.10.13 and 22.10.13. Problem was begins just after reaching the hotel. In each floor only 2 super deluxe are available.Initially we stayed in two different floor.Then after we discover the following problem....|| 1. AC was not working.|| 2. For substitution a stand fan installed but result is same.|| 3. No intercom telephone available in some room not even telephone set.|| 4. Not sufficient stuff available.|| 5. Restaurant on ground floor was closed since unknown days.|| 6. Hotel stuff's are very lied. They said to us others boarders are went to travel on Parrier Lake.But actual fact is that no current boarders are in the hotel apart from we are only 4 families.|| 7. Staff says to us call 9 or 6 for direct connect to reception.The funny fact is that no telephone set found on SUPER DELUXE ROOM.|||| Finally one stuff inform us....."HOTEL PROPERTY GOING TO SALE!!!!!!!"|| As soon as we packed up and leave the hotel and arrange another hotel.|||| As per my experience the hotel look like a GHOST HOUSE.We stayed only 1-2 hours and feel lots of above problem.We are only 4 rooms member out of 54 rooms. ||||So I advice all of Trip Advisor members and readers try to avoid this hotel other wise ready for some more...
   Read moreOn 29.10.2013 (afternoon) we reached Thekkady and our stay arrangement was done in Hotel Lake Queen, Kumily. Although its location is quite good, but, it discriminates the tourists of package tours from its other tourists. There were two dining halls in the hotel. First and the better one was located on the first floor of the hotel which was exclusively reserved for their general customers or tourists. Second one was located on the ground floor of the hotel and was in bad shape which was offered for package tourists. We were offered the ground floor dining hall. We asked this from the hotel staff and manager but they refused us to sit in the first floor dining hall. It was a very discriminatory and harrowing experience for my family in Lake Queen Hotel.
