The Lalit Khajuraho surely lives up to its franchise name. Located in an exceptionally divine location like khajuraho with extravagant natural surroundings, this hotel experience will leave you feeling relaxed and in vacation mode. It was a family trip for my fathers birthday and we decided on Lalit. This hotel has the most amazing staff and services one could have the pleasure of acquiring as they cater to your every need with utmost care and attention. We were served at the hotel by Mr. Sujit, Mr. Majih, Mr. Amit, Mr. Kishan, Mr. Vivek and Mr. Mukesh. We chose to take all our meals at the hotel due to the quality, variety and services offered by the staff and believe me when I say there is never a compromise in the exceptional flavors provided for every meal. The breakfast buffet was an absolute delight and there were multiple cuisines available ranging from gujarati, standard american, punjabi, south Indian and the native among others. The lunch and dinner buffet varies based on the crowd at the hotel as they do not believe in wastage of food which again is applaudable. However, the menu itself has a myriad of options to pick from and all the dishes are cooked to perfection. We've tried a few and the margherita pizza was my absolute favorite. I succumbed to a mild cold during my stay and the staff was absolutely great in providing me with a beverage called "Kadha" at absolutely no charge. The staff treated me like family and it is by far one of the best services I've ever received. Speaking of the rooms, they were absolutely clean with an unrestricted view to the garden outside and there were no issues with any facilities in the room. The hotel has a royal vibe and there were many tourists from foreign countries residing at the property. The hotel staff ensures utmost care in hygiene, quality of food and ambience of the property as they cater to guests of all nationalities. The location of the hotel is a big boon as it falls close to all the sight seeing locations and the hotel provides for their own touring services which makes it easier to plan and book locations and transport well in advance and ensure a hassle free vacation. The entire help on the property including managers, culinary staff, and housekeeping are extremely cooperative and cater to your every need. In totality, one of the best hotel...
Read moreOur short one hour twenty five minutes SpiceJet flight from Khajuraho to Nee Delhi was delayed by close to three hours and we decided to float around the city and explore lunch places as well as do a recce of some of the properties in the city. We checked with the hotel before stepping out - the cab hire cost for a short drop even if it was just one km was 500 bucks and the auto that is usually available across the road was RS.100/-. The obvious answer was the auto.
We left our luggage at the Hotel cloak room and walked out to find a friendly auto driver - his name was Nandi.
We started with #Radisson - - went of to The Chandela, Hotel Bundela and even checked out the MPT Zhankar - someone from the client side had recommended it saying it’s supposed to have good food. (see pictures in a different review about the other properties) Coming back
By this time - seeing us hungry and still figuring out where to eat - the auto guy was generous enough to suggest taking us to his own house to feed us :)
This was the point when we thought of going to Lalit. We first checked out the rooms and Aman the front office staff at Lalit was courteous to show us around. Definitely the place I would stay at when I am here next in this city.
He guided us to the restaurant claiming on the way that this is one of the best place to eat in the city and he was right. The Stewart at the restaurant was amazingly courteous and made good conversation.
We ordered a veg Biryani (yes I know what you are thinking - but my wife is a vegetarian) and their portion was really generous. The food was awesome and we weee really hungry. They kept giving us multiple helpings of the curd which was a delight, if the curd at a five star reminds you of home made curd - then that’s always a delight. The side servings of papadam was also quite awesome.
The only dampener was that they had strong beer and no light lager. For which the team was apologetic - we needed up adding ice to dilute it - yep only Indians can do this - add ice to beer I guess.
If I were to come back to this city wahin / which I probably would need to / this is a definite must stay...
