Lala ji ki rasoi pure veg — Restaurant in Khajuraho

We were staying at the hotel next to this restaurant. I had a mild headache and asked my father to get me some orange juice. Knowing that fresh orange juice might be hard to find, I had suggested Dabur Real or Patanjali tetra pack juice.

Anyway, my father ate a little food here and ordered orange juice to be delivered to our hotel room. The staff delivered sweet lime juice instead. Later, when I checked the bill, it mentioned "Orange Juice – ₹100." At Madhav Hotel, where this restaurant’s menu was also displayed, it clearly said: Sweet Lime – ₹60, Orange Juice – ₹100.

We brought this to the manager’s attention, but they flatly denied it and insisted it was orange juice. Even the delivery boys stuck to the same story. We understand they were just following instructions.

Later, we found out that the juice was sourced from a vendor across the road for ₹50. We wouldn’t have minded even ₹10 extra, but...

The manager blatantly lied and became aggressive, refusing to admit the truth. First, he claimed oranges were out of season—then why charge for orange juice? Then he absurdly claimed that sweet lime is not mosambi. He told us to argue with the hotel staff, even though the order was clearly placed at their counter inside the restaurant. Utter nonsense.

Luckily, the juice vendor who made the juice told us the truth.

The manager probably assumed we wouldn’t have any bill or proof. But here's the thing:

You don’t even have orange juice in stock.

Whether sweet lime is mosambi or not is something you can explain to the police or a consumer court.

The disposable glass was still in the hotel trash bin, and any expert can tell what juice it was.

In the end, they rudely returned ₹50.

Let me be clear—if we didn’t have the bill, the glass, or the honest juice vendor, we still wouldn’t have let this go.

हम इस रेस्तरां के बगल के होटल में रुके थे। मेरे सर में थोड़ा दर्द हो रहा था। मैने पिताजी को संतरे का रस लाने का कहा था। मुझे पता था संतरे रस मिलना मुश्किल है तो डाबर रियल / पतंजलि के टेट्रा पैक वाले जूस का बोला था। खैर, मेरे पिताजी में इनके यहां थोड़ा खाना खाया और संतरे का जूस होटल के रूम में पहुंचा देने का ऑर्डर किया। लड़के मौसंबी का जूस देकर चले गए थे। बाद में जब मैने बिल देखा तो उसमें ऑरेंज जूस ₹100 था। माधव होटल पर इसी होटल का मेनू भी रखा था जिसमें sweet lime ₹60, orange juice ₹100 लिखा हुआ था। हमने रेस्तरां मैनेजर को इस बात से अवगत कराया तब वो लोग साफ मुकर गए। जिद करने लगे कि ऑरेंज जूस ही दिया था। वो लड़के भी यही कहने लगे। उनकी मजबूरी हम समझ सकते है। बाद में पता चला यह जूस रेस्तरां के सामने रोड की दूसरी तरफ से ₹50 में लाए थे। ₹10 अतिरिक्त चार्ज करो हमें कोई दिक्कत नहीं है।

मैनेजर सफेद झूठ और लड़ाई पर उतर आया लेकिन सच्चाई स्वीकार नहीं की। बोलने लगा संतरों का सीजन ही नहीं है। तो चार्ज क्यों किया? फिर बोलने लगा sweet lime मौसम्बी नहीं होता। बोलने लगा होटल स्टाफ से बहस करो। यह ऑर्डर इसी रेस्तरां के अंदर इनके काउंटर पर किया गया था। तरह तरह की वाहियात फिजूल बातें। वो तो भला वो जूस बनाकर बेचने वाले का जिन्होंने सच्चाई बता है।

मैनेजर यह सोच रहा होगा हमारे पास बिल नहीं होगा और क्या सबूत की वह संतरे का जूस था या नहीं। पहली बात तो आपके पास संतरे का जूस उपलब्ध ही नहीं। दूसरी बात sweet lime क्या है या क्या नहीं इसका जवाब पुलिस या उपभोक्ता अदालत में देना। वो जूस की डिस्पोजेबल ग्लास होटल के ट्रैश बिन में ही थी। जो एक्सपर्ट न वो भी बता सकता है वो किस चीज का रस था।

अंत में बड़े बदतमीजी से ₹50 रिटर्न कर दिए।

एक बार और बता दूं, अगर हमारे पास बिल नहीं होता, होटल से ग्लास नहीं मिलता, जूस बनाने वाले सज्जन भी झूठ बोल जाते, तब भी हम इस मामले को...

We ordered Paneer Lababdar and Tawa roti ..and we were not disappointed...it was very delicious and spicy, the way we wanted.. we ate some 10-12 rotis

The host was also warm and welcoming.. I also got to charge my phone while we were dining..

Totally recommended place if you are looking for some culinary escape after an exhausting exploration of Khajuraho temples or you're returning from Panna National park or if you're just staying in some nearby hotel. It's equally favourable for all kinds of groups and people.

Comfortable seating and great ambiance make the dining a much better experience.

Very close to the market and Western group of temples area.. you can walk there and just relax and enjoy the food.

Lots of parking space is available. I really did not expect this much tasty food before going in. So a total 10/10 restaurant.

Behtreen restau in khajuraho, it was my first time in the place. I was very frightened for bad experience which ruin my stomach and mood too. But food was way better than any other. Kaju korma dish was fabulous. You should try once. Everything they served, was very tasty, healthy and healthy economically too. Love this place, if I ever visit or if anyone of my frnd, family visit this place, will definitely suggest this place. Manager/owner was very cordial. Just ask them for any addition or alteration, they are very fast to complete that. Great in terms of service, ambience, taste and ofcourse...
