Hotel Grand Palace Kodaikanal — Hotel in Kodaikanal

This is one of the worst hotel I have ever stayed. The internet was available in lobby only not in room and hot water is available for only few hours. These details are not provided while booking. The restaurant was purely south Indian (VEG) and had a horrible experience with that. We went for lunch and they told that only south Indian thali is available and E la Carte is available in dinner only so we had to go outside for dinner. At night at 9 PM when we went for dinner they told it is already closed and only south Indian buffet was available, so we had to go for outside for dinner as well. At the time of check in we told that we need toasted bread and butter in the breakfast and the manager confirmed that is will be available and breakfast time is 8:30 AM. When we went for breakfast at 8:30 AM in the next morning it was fully packed up with a group and bread is not available. I had to contact the manager once again and he requested to wait for 10 mins but actually we had to wait for 30 mins and when we got a chance to enter in the restaurant we came to know bread is not toasted and butter is not available and manager told me that as breakfast is complimentary so we can't ask anything more. I am not sure how manager can talk to his tourist with this language. When I asked the manager why the actual information (Internet and hot water) is missing they blamed Make My Trip saying that all the information has been provided to Make My Trip but it is their fault that they have not mentioned that and menu has been changed due to group booking although this sort of terms and condition was not...

Worst experience ever! How can it be a 3 star hotel? No lifts, No hot water except for 3-4 hours on a day, No proper amenities like Bathroom/Toilet were not clean, No Wifi speed (name sake), Parking is horrible (you can park only if you come early, and then if you have to take it outside, you need to wait until the other vehicles get out), No good nearby restaurants, restaurants nearby closing around 10pm and no hospitality as such!! Reception is responsive but Room Service 152 is not!! Room is just okay. Never matching a 3 star standard, for sure. 1 star should somehow makes sense! Misbehaving security guard as well. They will force you to park the car/vehicle outside, but the irony is even inside in the wall they have written "Parking at owner's risk" then I am wondering how can they ask us to park outside. Gobibo support was horrible as well, there was no direct number to call. MakeMyTrip wins here I guess.

No Hospitality, Non-Friendly staff, No Lifts, No Hot Water amidst the cold weather, No parking and I am surprised to see this as a 3 star hotel. Rooms are tiny, Bathroom/Toilet is sub-standard not having 3 star quality. Worst Gobibo support. I would never recommend if you need peace of mind....

Hotel is good, well maintained!!

Place is near convent road Kodai and bit away from main city and there where less food option near by..

We stayed here for two days and its 4000 INR for me and felt bit costly..and there is no complementary nothing.. it’s solely for only room..

There is no lift here and building is of 4 floors i think, so you need to take steps which is i think manageable but for old age person it will be difficult..

Rooms are comfortable but small in size for amount you are paying, i was expecting some what big one, but it is small with nice bed,tv, small table and kettle for hot water..

There will not be tea or coffee served as complement and you will not even get tea bags and coffee powder here, that was quite disappointing..

There is attached restaurant but i saw no one sitting and didn’t try that..

There is very less option near by for food, so it will be great if you have you vehicle, to try food in city… you have small hotel i think its Harish Family hotel, its good option to try if you cant goto city for food..

It was good stay but felt price...
