We were about to return from Kodaikanal and we were searching for good restaurant to have lunch from, before our trip. There are lots of restaurants in Kodaikanal. But finding premium quality ones are difficult. When searching for one, I came across Park Astoria and it was great. Great ambience, premium atmosphere etc. Parking space is an issue at Kodaikanal and we were afraid if there would be parking space available at Park Astoria and there was. The parking space at this restaurant is big. Then comes the staff. The staff is amazing. Great customer service. Pretty friendly too. I don't remember the name of the person assigned to our table. But he was a great guy. Helped with everything. Even explained how to do certain things when we were confused(the goli soda bottle placement when pouring and more). One other staff even helped to park our car at a different position when there was a need to move it from current position, while we were having our lunch. Finally, the food. I loved it. Our trip was in total 3 days. We first went to Veilankanni and Kodaikanal was the second part of our trip. And the food we had from Park Astoria was way better than anywhere else I had during the 3 days. It was flavourful and tasty. Loved it. Don't worry. It's not costly or as we malayalee say, "blade rate alla". Rates are affordable. I would recommend everyone Park Astoria if you are going...
Read moreHad seen a good review of this restaurant. We need to buy things from Spencer and the idea was to park the car go outside to check couple of things and then come back in the restaurant to have lunch. As per this idea, after buying we were going outside, the restaurant owner ( who is a Tamilian) told us we can’t park our car there and go outside; my husband and his friend requested but he was not ready to listen. When me and another friend’s wife pointed out other families with car TN plate went out after parking the car. He was not ready to talk to women and asked our husbands to ask us to stop talking. He said us to shut up because he don’t know what he will do once he loose his temper. He explicitly mentioned that it is not Bangalore and it’s Kodai and hence we are not in a position to put our point. When we pointed out it India and he should be regional, he started speaking in Tamil. All through out he shouted and abused us in Tamil which we understand because one of our member knows to speak Tamil.
The entire point is:
A restaurant might serve good food ( though doubtful as there were no customers) but need to also consider the behaviour of the staffs there. We are the customers and expect good behaviour rather misogynistic rude and regional abuse. Didn’t expect this behaviour from Kodaikanal. Had...

We visited Park Astoria (4 of us) for both lunch and dinner, and it turned out to be an excellent experience. • Ambience & Service: The restaurant has a pleasant ambience with parking available. Service was attentive and courteous throughout. Special thanks to Mr. Nirmal for his helpful recommendations, and to Mr. Ram Shankar (Manager in charge), who ensured our preferences were taken care of — the kebabs, in particular, were a big hit with everyone. • Lunch: We had sweet corn soup, dragon chicken, and the non-veg thali with Mutton Varuval and Chicken Pichi Potta Kara Kozhi Masala. The mutton was exceptionally soft and flavorful, and the chicken dishes were equally delicious. • Dinner: Our table was reserved in advance, and both mutton and chicken kebabs were served hot and perfectly cooked — so good that we ordered an extra plate of chicken kebabs! Paired with soft butter naan, plain naan, and butter chicken, it made for a very satisfying dinner. • Value: Pricing was reasonable and absolutely worth it for the quality of food and service. Overall, all four of us were very happy, and our guests loved the food. Park Astoria was the unanimous choice for dinner, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone ...
