I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a truly remarkable stay at Hotel Jai, and I am excited to share my glowing review with you all. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an unforgettable visit.

Upon entering the elegantly designed lobby, I was immediately struck by the sophisticated ambiance and impeccable attention to detail. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, thanks to the courteous staff who made sure every aspect of my stay was perfect.

The room at Hotel Jai was nothing short of luxurious. The decor was modern yet inviting, with plush furnishings and state-of-the-art amenities that ensured both comfort and convenience. The breathtaking views from my room added an extra touch of magic to the experience, making it difficult to leave the room each morning.

One of the standout aspects of my stay was undoubtedly the exceptional hospitality displayed by the staff. Every interaction was marked by genuine warmth and a willingness to go above and beyond to meet my needs. Whether it was arranging transportation, providing local recommendations, or ensuring my dietary preferences were accommodated, the team at Hotel Jai consistently exceeded expectations.

Now, let's talk about the culinary delights at Hotel Jai. The dining experience was nothing short of spectacular. Each meal was a culinary masterpiece, crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and presented with artistic flair. From indulgent breakfast spreads to delectable dinners, every dish showcased the skill and creativity of the talented chefs. The restaurant's ambiance complemented the exquisite flavors, offering a perfect setting for both intimate dinners and lively gatherings.

Moreover, the 5-star treatment extended beyond the accommodation and dining. The amenities at Hotel Jai were designed to pamper guests and create a truly indulgent experience. Whether relaxing by the poolside with a refreshing drink or rejuvenating at the spa with a soothing treatment, every moment was designed to enhance relaxation and well-being.

In conclusion, my stay at Hotel Jai was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of luxurious accommodations, exceptional hospitality, gourmet dining, and 5-star treatment made it a truly unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Jai to anyone seeking a luxurious retreat in Kodaikanal. Trust me, you won't be...

Let me start off with the positives - the food. The vegetarian menu is varied enough for a buffet service and the taste was excellent. Only one or two items were average, so vegetarians will be left satisfied. However, the non-veg menu is poor, so that can be improved. Non-veg food is primarily only available for dinner and variety is very limited. Taste was also okay.

Another good thing is that for a fair price, you get breakfast and dinner for free, which is not common among hotels (only breakfast is complimentary most of the times). So this is a plus.

The service is good, just not too great. They address your requirements fast enough but there is some lag sometimes. For instance, we had to ask for someone to come and carry our luggage to our rooms. The floor in our room was a bit dusty when we arrived, so we asked them to wipe it. The water was also slightly unclean, so we had to buy our own. Hotels these days do these things promptly without request from visitors.

The location is somewhat remote. There are some shops if you walk for about 5 minutes, but since this hotel is located at an elevation, that can be an issue for kids/elderly people.

One big negative is the lack of modern amenities. The wifi is quite slow and often times, our connections dropped. Also, the TVs are quite old, so they don't have the option to connect streaming sticks - you only get to see DTH channels, most of which are not subscribed to.

If you need an old-school feeling hotel at a budget (which are quite rare these days) but are not worried about modern features, I will...

Good Hotel to stay for Summer and not during Winter ( Reason given in cons section)

Pros :

Reception and Check-in ::: Check in was really quick and staff were sharing required information.

Rooms ::: Room and Bathroom was Clean. Spacious enough for a family.

All the basics things were provided and kettle was available to make tea/coffee

Location ::: Just a kilometer from City Center and Lake so away from crowd and easily reachable

Parking ::: Good amount of spacious parking in front of Hotel. So many vehicles can be parked.

Security guys were really helpful and ensuring properly parking even during day and night

Restaurant :

Breakfast was so Good and each day menu items were changed.

During cold nights, hot buffet dinner was served .

Cons ::::

Room were freezing cold including bed and pillows.

Have stayed many Hotels in Kodai and never seen Like this. It would really difficult foe children and elder s

Management should do something to retain the room temperature during winter.

Since its very Old property ,Bath room and doors were having stain s .

3 . Hot water available only during morning and evening at specified timings. No water heater available.

Check out time is 9.AM which is very hard to make it.

A very comfortable and calm hotel in Kodaikanal. From outer view it looks old but from inside, this is well maintained , neat and clean and well managed place. All staffs are good in nature and having good behavior. In my booking, complimentary breakfast was included. In breakfast they serve corn flakes, juice, tea, coffee, bread, butter, Jam, idli, vada, pongal or upma, puri or masala dosa or plain dosa. Breakfast was very very tasty and just like homemade food. They serve lukewarm water for drinking which was appreciated for winter seasons. Room size are good and they have all the facilities in the room. They provide hot water kettle to boil water and keep in water flask provided by them. Tea bags, whitener, sugar, coffee powder and knorr soup pouch always available in the room. Rooms and bathroom are very clean. In bathroom, they provide body shampoo, hair shampoo, small soap, one toothbrush, toothpaste, moisturizing cream, comb and shaving kit. They do not prepare lunch, because maximum occupants go out side to visit Kodaikonal. But they provide dinner on payment of Rs. 250/- per person with buffet system and for children, they charge Rs. 100. Dinner was very tasty and hygienic. You can have your dinner of your choice in available menu for that day. I enjoyed a lot at this hotel. There was a recreation room attached to dining hall. You can play carrom, chess and table tennis at this room. Check out time is 9 AM and check-in time is 10 AM.

I would suggest not to book this hotel online at all. They have some rooms which are as in pictures they posted and some which are half the size (no exaggeration, see photos I posted) without any of the luxury/facilities shown. They call it with the same name (double delux). If you book online, there is a good chance you will get the smaller one as the other rooms go to people who come directly and ask to see the room before paying money. I went there on 3-4 may 2017, booked via makemytrip (Rs.3000) around a week early and Jaws dropped once we got the room (No. 205). We had booked double delux room after seeing the photos. The room we got had nothing .. it was - - Tiny room, only big enough to fit a cot. - Small bed. - No sofa/teapoy,reading chair - One plastic chair instead of sofa/wooden chair shown in pictures. - NO WASHBASIN in room - Tiny bathroom, you have to brush almost next to the toilet. - NO window - No exhaust in toilet. Paid Rs3000 for the s**hole when booked. Had to brush teeth next to a toilet. Not to mention, the bathroom didn't even have an exhaust fan :( It was the most fun activity my family had at Kodaikanal! Before coming, befriended another another person who had come there and taken double deluxe. Went to his room and it was a similar one the hotel guys had posted photos with all the facilities. A deliberate act of cheating unsuspecting customers who come via online bookings and hence can't inspect the room themselves!
