Read moreLet me start off with the positives - the food. The vegetarian menu is varied enough for a buffet service and the taste was excellent. Only one or two items were average, so vegetarians will be left satisfied. However, the non-veg menu is poor, so that can be improved. Non-veg food is primarily only available for dinner and variety is very limited. Taste was also okay.
Another good thing is that for a fair price, you get breakfast and dinner for free, which is not common among hotels (only breakfast is complimentary most of the times). So this is a plus.
The service is good, just not too great. They address your requirements fast enough but there is some lag sometimes. For instance, we had to ask for someone to come and carry our luggage to our rooms. The floor in our room was a bit dusty when we arrived, so we asked them to wipe it. The water was also slightly unclean, so we had to buy our own. Hotels these days do these things promptly without request from visitors.
The location is somewhat remote. There are some shops if you walk for about 5 minutes, but since this hotel is located at an elevation, that can be an issue for kids/elderly people.
One big negative is the lack of modern amenities. The wifi is quite slow and often times, our connections dropped. Also, the TVs are quite old, so they don't have the option to connect streaming sticks - you only get to see DTH channels, most of which are not subscribed to.
If you need an old-school feeling hotel at a budget (which are quite rare these days) but are not worried about modern features, I will...
