Holiday Inn Express Pune Pimpri, an IHG Hotel — Hotel in Maharashtra

I visited pune for a family function and had to stay back for a night. I booked this hotel considering the reputation of Holiday inn Mumbai. But I was majorly disappointed. After entering the hotel premises there is nobody to even greet you. I had to carry all the luggage myself. There is no valet. I had to park my vehicle then get the luggage to the reception which I don't know why is on the 1st floor. Shocking!! The ground floor is EMPTY!! Never seen something like this before. I paid the charges and asked the receptionist for a bellboy but turned out they don't have a bellboy service..Horrifying !!! I was just wondering and confused as to what this place is.. To my horror the room was even more disappointing. It was just about large enough to fit a queen size bed. No cupboard. No place to keep luggage. A small desk which can barely accomodate a laptop. Funny lights. Bathroom was about 10sq.ft. only. You need to see it to believe it. Wash basin was outside and so badly placed that the water would sprinkle over the chair. The only thing which was big in the room was the TV. I was wondering whether the architect has designed this hotel for African pygmies. Bed made noise and pillows were uncomfortable. I could barely sleep that night. What a waste of time and money. Could have rather driven to Mumbai late night and slept at home. This whole EXPRESS thing attached to this hotel is a sham. You just cannot be in the hospitality business without hospitality in your hotel. I didn't understand this concept of limited service hotel. It's absurd to say the least. The best thing the management can do is to shut down this so called EXPRESS hotel as it will only do more harm to the reputation of the Holiday inn chain. Avoid this hotel even if it is free. While on a road trip took a halt at Pune and tried this hotel. Major disappointment it is.

I chose superior deluxe room with breakfast. Let me give you a picture of reality.

Room was cramped , congested. Bathroom is so compact and claustrophobic. There is space in bathroom door. You can smell it in whole room. Bathroom door has all fingerprints marks. Uncleaned. If visiting for professional trip try choosing other and if not try getting out asap. Don't bring luggage they don't have space! Nothing express its all cumbersome.

Wall of room are made of cardboard. U can totally feel and hear people in nearby rooms. Planning a private trip with your partner be careful other person can hear it! I heard someone walking in my room @ 3 am. Woke up with jumpscare. It was person in my adjacent room. ( I am serious) 😂

Let's come to breakfast. We walked there around 8:30. After three request of table cleaning we got clean table to sit.

Idli not fresh. Podi over, ghee not available, coconut chutney too runny. Papaya overripe sausage dry, omelette cold, eggs cold, sprouts had uncleaned service spoon, muffins stale, sandwich was ok. Croissant was good. But we just had one as it got over. They were not able to manage the service and order. Staff was confused and impolite. I had to ask for egg sunny side up for 5 times and when I actually got it was loaded with moist salt that too in excess. I didnt even ask for salt. My husband had three big lumps of salt. Poor guy! Tea and coffee was good. But mugs were chipped.

So overall hell of a an experience. This hotel should be named as unholiday ! You will instantly get out of your holiday mood if you step in here.

This hotel of Holiday express inn group is situated near Ambedkar Chawk, Pimpri near the PCMC. The hotel reception and the restaurant are on the first floor. The rooms are there on the first to the fourth floor. All of the rooms are of the same size and style. As per the size, the rooms are very small and the wash room area is extremely small and the toilet and bathing area are separated with the wash basin outside the same. But the rooms are neat and clean. Due to the small size of the wash room and the wash basis, one has to encounter the water spillage issue from there which is really annoying. The bed is comfortable and there are good numbers of plug points inside the room. However, it is better to stay for a small duration here. The restaurant looks good from the aesthetic point of view but it should have been more airy with less number of chairs on a larger area which is a little uncomfortable in case of large gatherings. The buffet breakfast menu has some basic items only and needs to be improved by a lot. The dinner buffet menu is very poor and has no variety at all which is included in MAP that too lasts only till 10:00 pm sharp without any tolerance. As a traveler with MAP package, I expect a call from the restaurant for dinner if they are closing but that is missing. The staff members of the restaurant need to be soft and much more cordial than they are right now and should be good listeners. The front desk members need to be more professional.
