Multiple great aspects to our stay here. Splitting them in bulleted list. Writing as i am one hour from check out at 2 pm, July 15.
Reception/front desk - Very cordial, sweet staff, helped us with room options and gave us an option that we like. But when we landed in the room it was not what was told. Had to call few times and finally they managed to allot another room that made everything better. Until i got the right room, i was getting a feeling that everybody seems stretched and there won't be any quality to this stay. But i was proven wrong. I believe it was Sritika who helped us with the whole thing. Knowing that we are frequent visitors of Hyatt San Diego, and first time at Hyatt in India, they offered a sweet bouquet of flowers to my wife. So sweet and also took pictures with us.
Guest relations - A lady named Kiran offered to show the whole hotel around. We took her for her word and she did take us on a hotel tour and showed us all parts of the hotel. This hotel is worth taking the tour to see various aspects of this hotel.
Lounge - Gaurav seemed to be at the helm here. Very well managed space, delicious snacks, very caring and high level of hospitality. Loved the couple of hours at lounge very much. All sweet stuff members jumping to help.
Airport shuttle - Great experience here too. Very accommodating staff, took care of luggage, helped drop off our son and brought us back to the hotel. They have one way free shuttle and I had requested to make it free coming back to the hotel too, as the cab was going to come back empty anyway. They obliged, hopefully. I am still here in the room and checking out soon. So not sure if they made the return free or not.
Restaurants Celini - After doing off our son, we got back to hotel around 11.30, looked for some soup and Celini had some great soup. Very delicious, hot, tasty soup at 11.45 pm. Courteous staff everywhere. Hard working good, Non flashy, humble folks working here. Feels so good.
Housekeeping - my son's flight got cancelled and he had to come back to the hotel. Requested an extra bed in the night and easily done with one call. Hard working staff working round the clock, even with 97% occupancy, no delays.
Breakfast - went to 55 East. Beautiful setting and elaborate spread. A boy called Pratik took care of us there. So many people working at this restaurant, ensuring super smooth experience inspite of being very busy.
Extended check out - Since the flight got cancelled to next day, i wanted to extend my checkout and book one more day. But they were fully booked. So i am going to check out soon, using my late check out option.
Overall - best Hyatt i have visited so far. I have been to so many Hyatt's across US, but nothing like this, especially the hospitality, helpful staff, always smiling, ready to help. I want to come here as many times i can.
Will check out in an hour. Hoping to have a good experience...
Read moreI hope that I will not have to come back to this hotel. I’m travelling to Mumbai for business for the last 5 years. I’ve had to stay a few times in this hotel since the last 5 years (and few others in Mumbai, so I can compare). Here are a few comments that I have experienced every time I’ve stayed here for the last 5 years and which make me always feel that I really don’t want to come back. The hotel is huge and impersonal, always receiving big events, cricket teams and big weddings which is making the place very busy, confusing and noisy. Don’t come here for relaxing. The hotel is often closing their facilities without notice, with no access to the gym, no access to the spa, no/limited access to the pool. The hotel is fully under AC. No openable windows and an unused central courtyard. The only external space is the pool which is busy with black birds hunting for food. The atmosphere of the hotel is mainly 50’s years old Indian business travellers. If you are a young European women you will be one of the exception and may not always feel the most comfortable. At the reception, the staff is acceptable and do all the contractually smiles, however they are very Indian business travel limited and not yet flexible to European mentalities and European potential request outside of their policy and outside of what the are been told to do. So anything outside the « normal » for them is difficult. Rooms are ok in sizes and are confortable expect the fact that there is no window so the only air you get is from the AC. They also need refresh. They are not extremely clean, and this time, I had to clean my bath tub before taking a bath. Not ideal. Daily Room cleaning is happening at the middle of the day. I’ve been disturbed during some meetings sometimes. Breakfast is ok but the breakfast room is always very cold and wherever you seat. Bring scarf and jumpers. Breakfast food is acceptable (variety and quantity is ok), but don’t expect very good food. Croissants and viennoiseries are not good. Finally as an overall the hotel is old and aged and all salaces would deserve a deep refresh. The staff is not best (for European mindset), they are trying hard, maybe too hard and too much as per policy. Staff needs to be trained to be natural and flexible with...
Read moreHad come here for two night three days stay! The overall experience was good at the end after the change but it’s started out with being horrific!
Room and amenities: Booked the apartment which is which is in one corner of the place. We reached late yet the room wasn’t ready. The apartment was good to look at and that’s probably where the issues started. It had such a bad smell that it was nauseating and even had my mums eyes all red and teary! We called the reception and no response. We called the main hotel team and no response. No response basically was them picking up the call and saying we’ll see and bang the phone on your face! As this was a corporate trip I escalated it to the booking team and my team back at the office! This helped that we got a room but after three hours! Imagine if I didn’t have a corporate booking! This is super super unprofessional and wouldn’t recommend booking the apartment
They downgraded us as they didn’t have a suite to the deluxe room which had a king size bed and a study table as well. The room was quite spacious! A pleasant change from the apartment room!
Room service: Ordered twice and the team was quite accommodating as we ordered off the menu! Food was good and the overall service was quick! Though the quantities aren’t great so if there’s two of you definitely over order to have sufficient food.
Restaurants: There are multiple restaurants here for which we didn’t quite get time. The breakfast buffet was nice and quite elaborate! The Masala chai needs a special mention as it was superb!
Favourites: Can I say none? The starting of the trip was so bad that we didn’t really want to be in the hotel except for nights!
To work on: I’ve had multiple experiences like this and sometimes error happens! The room being dirty to being super smelly! But the problem I had here was response! No one is bothered and no one bats an eye if you’re...
