Mabrook Dormitory — Hotel in Mumbai

At first night we met a really nice guy who was able to speak english and he promised us that we can stay two nights, but the day after, the owner, because of us protesting that he himself slept in the female dormitory, said the dormitory was full for the second day, irrespective of the fact that we had been promised two nights. Basically we were evicted for asking too many questions (two questions, I guess it was one too much). Furthermore, on two separate occasions after somebody checked out, the sheets were not changed, just spread on the bed again. If you have tolerance for arbitrary rules, people pretending not to speak english so as to not have to explain things, and the chance of sleeping in a dirty bed, go here. Otherwise don’t.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE - Rude customer services and gender discrimination

I booked online thru Goibibo. I read hostel policies before booking. "Unmarried couples are not allow". Therefore, I booked with confidence because I was traveling with my wife. However, when we arrived at the hostel two men standing by the door, wearing skullcaps (taqiyah/topi) looked at us in a very unfriendly manner. "Women are not allowed" one of them said immediately even without letting me speak. I replied " we have a reservation and she is my wife". Firstly, the problem is that this hostel actually doesn't accept booking from Trip.com as they only cooperate with other booking services. I paid here non-refundable booking which has been declined by hostel staff so I had to pay again in place. My complaint to customer support here is still not replied. Second, information about this property here is not quite correct. For example, the hostel doesn't provide free breakfast included and no any breakfast at all, there is no any option. I don't know how this property was listed here even with option of booking instant confirmation. I never had problem with Trip.com before but this time it's just terrible case. Much...
