Modern Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in Mumbai

Just near the Saki naka metro station you can see the very catchy and illuminated name board of Modern. Me and a friend jumped in to explore. The initial reaction was peace!.. while getting off the bustling saki naka street, blaring with honking vehicles. We sank into a sofa which was quite comfy. The first order was a Chilled beer, literally poured from the top till half and the rising frothing foam filled the rest of the glass. Our parched throats downed the entire chilled glass in a single gulp. Waiterrr !!! Another one pl.. We ordered Bombil fry, prawn koliwada, the pulinchi fish curry ( with king fish) and the neer dosa. Must say the food is noteworthy with a taste of fresh spices. I realised that the place must be maintaining their taste as could feel a lot of patrons and serious family eaters visiting the restaurant. The service can be pulled up a little, as we really had to strain our necks a couple of times , to catch hold of the server. COCKROACHES on our table... 2 cockroaches just landed on our table out of nowhere.. when we called a waiter he was so casual as if it was a dish lying around.. then when we asked to speak to the manager, they said The manager is "busy" and cannot come to talk right now. Even later they were least bothered to give us any kind of apology or ensurance to give us a different table. Worst experience, had to just leave from there due to this unhygiene experience without finishing food but we paid full bill as we didn't want to be responsible for any of their losd. They serve the best GHEE ROAST in the world. It can be done with any of Chicken, Prawns or Mutton, but i prefer Prawns.

Try their Chicken Tandoori, Chicken Angaara, Mandeli Fry, Prawns Pulimunchi, Peri Peri Fries, Dal Khichdi as well.

Located right below the Sakinaka Metro station and opposite Mitron, this is the Go To watering hole.

PS : They also have a family and a rooftop section.

Do tip the humble smiling man at the door. And if you are high enough to strike a conversation with him you would be humbled by his words.
