Localization Hotel is located near two big shopping centers (one is 1km away, second one is about 2.5km away). Also there is an easy access to railway station and bus station.
Hotel Hotel is clean, very good looking. On the entrace there is always someone with a smile who will open you a door or scan your bags - yes, there is a control at entrance. Hotel has 7 floors: ground floor with reception, 1st floor with conference rooms, 2nd floor with bar and restaurant, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th floors of rooms. Also on the 7th floor you can find entrance to the roof where the swimming pool is located. There are 6 sun beds but usually all of them are empty. It looks clean however because of having no time, I couldn't try it out.
Rooms Room was clean, spacious with big window (unfortunately they cannot be opened). HDTV on the wall with about 100 channels - mostly Indian (English-spoken too), American and other Asian countries. There are no German, Polish or French channels. WiFi is free in the hotel with pretty good bandwidth. I was able to use Skype\Netflix without any problems. Bathroom is clean without any fungus or rust. Bed is so comfy! Rooms are opened by using magnetic card. "Don't disturb" and "Please clean" signs are being operatable by buttons. The big plus and a shock for me was daily newspaper (in English of course) that hung on the door handle. In the wardrobe you can find safe - this service is for free.
Restaurant All food served in the restaurant are delicious! If you come from Europe, you have to get used to Indian food - it's so spicy. However when you regain the feeling in the throat again - you will feel how tasty it is! Breakfast are half-European, half-Indian. I suggest you to try omelettes and pancakes with maple syrup. You don't need to worry about water. Everything is safe here so you can try vegetables and fruits. I was afraid about coming to India because I have very delicate stomach but I was totally healthy. I also recommend all freshly squeezed fruit juices - they are being made on your eyes. For dinner you can pick something from menu or take a buffet (which I recommend!) for a 1499 rupees + taxes. I really recommend you the buffet especially the Indian corner. You can check out Indian cusine specialties without being worry about food poisoning. There are many waiters but they are more friendly and serves you more during dinner (maybe because we are paying extra for it?). I travel a lot but for the first time I saw that waiters ask for positive review and to mention their names - they even try you to remember these names by spelling letter by letter. I cannot complain about their work but such an attitude was something new to me.
Other services There is SPA in the hotel but unfortunately I haven't got a chance to check it out. Also Radisson is offering transport. Because I was in India for business, I needed to be in office every day per 2 weeks. I was able to order hotel transport every day at the same time, pick up from office is also available. It is very convinient way because there is no need to worry about transport. Entire bill can be regulated during check-out. About 3km ride cost me about 700 rupees. There is also a possibility to order transport to pick you up from the airport and pay in advance for transfer to the airport (1300 rupees). During check-out you can pay by credit cards (also American Express). Hotel is also offering money exchange - exchange rate is variable but I got about 60 rupees for 1 USD.
Conclusion Radisson Mumbai is a very good choice for short and long stay. It has everything what is needed during your stay. Its location is also a big advantage. Very tasty restaurant, clean rooms, free Wifi, hotel transport are a big advantages. Definitly worth to recommend. I personally comming back to this hotel...
Read moreWe were home sick and longing to have bottle gaurd (tori तोरी) during the long stay at this awesome Hotel. Vikram at the Coffee Shop understood our need while speaking to us over breakfast and spoke to the Chef. Later that evening, Executive Sous Chef Mr. Kuldip Singh Negi made us the best tori we ever had. He understood our taste after speaking to us, connected with our Punjabi taste buds and cooked the sabzi himself.
As an ex employee of Taj Mahal Hotel and an extensive traveler, I can claim that F&B staff of this Hotel is better than any other Hotel I've ever stayed or dined in. Even before we could think of something we would need, their staff anticipates and presents it to us. I couldn't imagine this kind of impeccable service at any other Hotel after leaving Taj Mahal, Delhi years ago. Just before coming here, we stayed at a famous Hotel in Singapore and discussed how even the worst Hotel in India provides better service than best Hotels of Singapore. It's all about the attitude, training and team spirit of Indian people. That's one of the key reasons why the whole world today outsources its Service & Back office operations to India while grey collared manufacturing is pushed to China. And, all Intellectually and emotionally (the perfect IQ + EQ balance) demanding positions are managed by the Indian workforce across all global Banks, Tech and other similar industries - From Sundar Pichhai to Satya Nadella.
Asst. F&B Manager Saurav and Vikram ensured we had the most pleasurable stay. Enjoyed their hospitality and told them how lucky we were to have experienced it. And being an ex Hotelier we also understood the true worth of such precious Staff with rarest skill sets you can't find easily, from New York, Dubai, London to Singapore.
Only an Indian Hotelier can look at every customer as a Guest who for him is like a God - because we are brought up with an ancient value "अतिथि देवो भवः" that can't be translated in any other language without loosing it's...
Read moreSpacious rooms with above average amenities. Mattress is a bit soft for Indians and other Asians but good for Americans and Europeans. Bed is big enough for hefty guys. Close to corporate hub of Goregaon East & West. Easily accessible from the Expressway. Not far from the Airport either (in non peak traffic hours). On a Sunday evening, we reached the Hotel from thr International Airport in less than 24 mins and Meru cab we hired from the Airport charged ₹120 (paid advance to the airport Meru taxi counter) + 260 (paid directly to the Driver) = ₹380. While getting out of the cab you can see the total on cab driver's Google App and pay cash or through various mobile money options India provides. Ask the driver for it. An do keep your Google maps on to keep track of the driver.
Restaurant Manager Rakesh (not sure of his name) we met was courteous and quite helpful. Offered us complimentary hot milk we Indians love to drink before going to bed. Enjoyed chatting up with him about the Radisson Group and their ex President/CXO, Mr. Ronnie Lobo.
Guy at the reception who checked us in lied to us through his teeth. After a delayed hectic flight we were too careless to read the registration card he made us sign at the time of check in. However when I asked him if the room was Non Smoking one, he said yes. However the room turned out to be stinky one. My wife couldn't sleep whole night and had to take allergy pills because of the strong tobacco odour. In the morning on seeing the ash tray, we realized how we were lied to!
Housekeeping could clean the balcony, as you can see in the video. Windows are locked up but that's ok. We are hoping to get an odorless room soon. Otherwise the room is sparkling clean, has small (empty) mini bar, iron, locker, international plugs, free wifi (I'm yet to check the speed and security), tea bags & kettle, 1 complimentary mineral water bottle, 40+ inches LED TV with cable, haven't checked the...
