Residency Sarovar Portico — Hotel in Mumbai

My Current review in 2025 having the similar experience I recently stayed at Residency Sarovar, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory due to the following issues: Room Condition & AC Malfunction: The first room provided had a non-functional air conditioner — it was outdated, and the swing/flap mechanism didn’t work at all. On top of that, the room had a strong, unpleasant odor, making it uncomfortable from the moment I walked in. Lack of Prompt Support from Staff: Despite reporting the issue, the staff was slow and were giving excuses about the issues, indicating my fault of booking twin bed room instead of Single Queen bed. However, the booking confirmation mentioned no specific bed sizes. Although the property website through which it was booked was having Queen bed image. It took multiple reminders before a solution was provided. Unreasonable Management Policy: When I requested an extension of stay, I was informed that payment must be made immediately as per management policy. This approach felt rigid and unaccommodating, especially considering the STAR RATING of the property and the unresolved issues already faced during the stay. Poor Housekeeping Service: The wash area was left uncleaned, and garbage was not cleared, which reflects poorly on the housekeeping standards expected even in basic accommodations.

Overall, this stay was disappointing due to poor maintenance, lack of responsive service, and inflexible management policies. I hope the hotel management reviews these concerns seriously and implements necessary improvements for future guests.

The greeting at this hotel was appalling when we first checked in. No one bothered to help us with our bags, no one even said hello. That is not a good starting point. There was also pest control going on which soaked my father-in-law is some insectacide, when we asked what could be done about his shirt, a resident was blamed, no offer for cleaning of the shirt or no apology for a barrier being place around the ground area where the falling half dead wasps landed. Luckily that all changed.

When we were after some wait, maybe 30 min, we were taken up to our rooms and I have to that they were by far the best maintained. Throughout my stay in Indian consistent quality has been a huge issue but not here in the rooms. They are quite small so if you are planning on a lengthy stay for for a couple you'll need to book a bigger room.

Staff were friendly but unlike the rest of India there did not seem to be an abundance around to help.

Dining options were limited and the food was cold and in some cases very undercooked.

When the room was made each morning it was done to an impeccable standard. Lose clothes folded and placed to a side.
