I recently had a stay at Taj Lands end, and I would like to share my experience!
Firstly, I would like to begin with the location. It's amazing! The view of the sea link as well as the sea, it's mesmerizing. We book an infinity sea view room which gave us a view of the sea, and it felt peaceful. Location certainly is 10/10
Now, talking about rooms. They were decent. Nice. Like any other 4-star or 5-star. Nothing much extraordinary, but offcourse the hygiene and setup was Elegant. Specifically, the bathroom. Very huge, very royal, and each bathroom has a bathtub in this hotel.
Just one thing, which came out as a shock was that the toiletries were very usual, while staying at a luxurious hotel, you expect toiletries which are not usually provided by 3-stars. There were shampoo, conditioner, body wash from Forest Essentials, and some soap, shaving and dental kit, shoe shine kit, and that's all. In some of the 5-stars I have stayed in the past, they had a complimentary bath menu which included bath bombs, bath salts and essential oil, there were serums and mists, as well as some complimentary munchies. Found nothing like that here. So, a minus one for that.
Now, coming to the lobby, which is first impression. It's ravishing. Huge and fancy. One thing which was too much odd was the welcome. There were no welcome gestures or even welcone drinks served. Infact, we had to stay in a queue for check in without anyone assisting us. Had to go ourselves to the entry to let the luggage staff tag our luggage so they can send it to our room. Felt more like, you are doing all yourself as a guest! Extremely disappointed with the welcome. I understand we checked in on a sunday rushy afternoon, but the management could be a thousand times better. I explicitly would like to mention that upon check I requested the guy at the front desk, Abhinav for a property tour (which luxury hotels usually offer by themselves) to which he promised he would send someone to our room for the same. And nobody ever showed up!
Lastly, my biggest disappointment was with the amenities. It was pouring heavily when we stayed and therefore, they closed all the open space amenities including lawn, garden, everything! I understand there are safety issues and closing pools make sense but some people might really enjoy taking a walk in the garden while enjoying the weak of the sea sitting by the pool. These outdoor spaces were one of the main reasons why I booked this property. At night, while it was not raining at 10:30 sharp they closed the gate itself (for the outdoor). Not being allowed in pool is obvious for night. But. Not being allowed to take a stroll in the lawn, and enjoy the view of the sea link from there was insane!! They must know that when one pays 14-15k per day for a room, they are not at the hotel to just be in the room or lobby. In most hotels (even 3-star and 4-star) you are provided with an option with a gentle warning during such times. The measure seemed to address safety less, and staff convenience more.
So, I would rate my experience around 5.5/10.
Do I regret my choice of staying here? No. The view from the room was great.
Was it all worth? I don't think so
Would I choose to stay here again in future? Not at all. (Unless I am paying half of what I...

Have stayed corporate in Landsend frequently till abt 7-8 years ago and loved it. Now I have left that job and came here on personal visit with family Sorry to say - some aspects were very disappointing. We were given a room with construction happening just in front - there was continuous and irritating sound of hammer…”tan””tan””tan” along with scaffolding right in front …AC in this room was also not working. it took us a bit of a while to get our grievance through (we were told, it’s peak time) to the right person - but Jay took immediate action and gave us a better room In one of our meals (i do not want to say which specific place ) - we were served non vegetarian food despite having ordered a veg equivalent… thankfully none of us are too fussy abt this. We ate a bite - found its smell n taste very strange...our co traveller said it was non veg - The staff agreed n took the food away - we did not make a fuss and let it pass… though i do know people who could have created a riot on this. we came tired late night on our first night. the spring was jutting out from the third bed in the room - right where the mid back is. I dialled 0 for problem in bed. The housekeeping staff came after 15 mins and said they would “come soon to address my problem”.. . Was sleeping with my 75 year old mother and did not want to disturb her more than i had … it had been 15 - 20 mins already .., told him not to bother. Next day woke up with a back ache. Next day post breakfast , the housekeeping manager came to ask us about the quality of stay… at that time i physically showed her the bed…. Asked her if it was Taj standard. Within few hours , she took approval for waiver of third person charges…which was a nice gesture. At the checkout however, they Charged us the full amount of stay - upon reminder of the commitment given by the housekeeping team - it took the checkout team more than half an hour to trace the request… n then another 10 mins to sanction the refund to my account… icing on the cake … their financial person looks at me top to bottom and tells me .., “congratulations you will be getting a waiver of three grands”…n not to forget, the checkout team handed me a box of chocolates... after which the lady asks me ‘are u happy now’ REALLY!!! WERE THEY DOING ME A FAVOUR OR AWARDING ME A PRIZE FOR MY BACKACHE THAT I SHOULD BE HAPPY… SHOULD I HAVE HAD TO REMIND THE CHECKOUT AND FINANCIAL TEAM ABOUT PROBLEMS IN THEIR RESPONSE TIME, PRESENCE OF MIND AND EQUIPMENT…. i have experienced taj hospitality all my life - from taj Vivanta Kashmir to taj samudra . This is DEFINITELY not what it is.
I AM HAVING TO TAKE TIME OUT TO WRITE THIS REVIEW late at night coz whenever we travel, our first choice is Taj...it’s part of the travel experience…One more experience like this and that preference would...
