Fern Hotel is famous for its cultural influence on food. Culture is also strongly influenced by food. And specific cuisines are considered as a master specialities during those cultural events. You find those dishes delicious specially during such occasions. Gudi Padva, being an auspicious occasion considered as a Beginning of a New Year of Maharashtrian, I was glad to be a part of this enchanting lunch experience @ferngoregaon @fleur_thefern. Thank you @sureshkumartamang and team for great hospitality. Entered in a positive ambiance, nice seating arrangement, vibrant light shining from outside, simple yet elegant decor. I have dined here in past for lunch, dinner, Sunday Brunch and festive occasions. I love the preparations made by chefs, spread is outstanding and focused on specifics. Started with assorted Bhajias sets a right tone. There were few Maharashtrian dishes and I guess the chef justified it. Potato Vegetables served with Puri a typical dish had a nice flavor of Jeera. Crispy Puri also went excellent with Shrikhand. Apart from that there were couple of starters sweet and spicy, soft Paneer Shanghai and Veg Seekh Kabab had a nice smoky aroma. In mains apart from above there was Paneer Tikka Masala, Dum Aloo, Navratan Kurma and Dal Fry with Corn Pulao. The mains were prepared with a nice balance. Navratan Kurma was sweetest in contrast with other vegetables. A rare vegetable to find in buffets. I had all these sabjis with Butter Naan. I tried everything however my favorite combination was Aloo ki Sabji and Puri and Shrikhand Puri. Can't go wrong with this on this occasion. What I like about the food is every dish was certainly prepared with different ingredients. Fresh Salads were also part of the meal. In desserts apart from Shrikhand, I had soft Gulabjam and Crispy Jalebi. Also at last I had Kiwi Pinacotta and Yogurt. Mocktails were served but usually I avoid drinking liquid during meal. I love cultural events, it gives us a motivation to build our community strong but also it gives me happiness to eat authentic food which is prepared for such...
Read moreI recently visited The Fern with my family of four for a Diwali buffet lunch, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired.
Ambiance and Seating: The restaurant, situated on the western express Highway, was easy to locate. However, upon entering, we noticed a limited number of tables (approximately 15-20), contributing to a cramped and notably loud atmosphere. Despite the Diwali celebration, the ambiance lacked the expected festive charm.
Service: While the captain greeted us warmly, the staff responsible for serving starters seemed inexperienced. Their apparent lack of coordination resulted in dropped food, and their rushed approach left little room for a pleasant dining experience. Requests for basic amenities, such as bottled water, were overlooked.
Temperature and Delay: A significant discomfort was caused by the cold air from the AC vents, directly affecting guests seated in its path. Despite complaints, the adjustment was delayed by about an hour, adding to the dissatisfaction.
Food Quality: The buffet spread, though decent in variety, fell short in terms of flavor. For instance, the fish with gravy had an inadequate layer of fish, mostly overshadowed by a heavy coating. The cream of chicken soup lacked chicken pieces, diminishing its quality. A noteworthy issue arose with the coconut-based chicken gravy, which lacked a non-veg rice option, leading guests to use the veg section, raising concerns about cross-contamination.
Overall Impression: Despite finding an offer on an app, the overall experience was far from satisfactory. The service appeared amateurish, with inattentive staff, and the food failed to meet expectations in terms of taste and presentation. Given these issues, I would not recommend The Fern for a special celebration or any occasion where quality and a positive atmosphere are crucial.

Read moreI wish there was a negative marking for the review, regardless the management for the event was miserable, the majority work was handled by the people of the AIB team. Mr. Gopinath rather than listening to the problems is speaking the language of Rafiq and don’t get me started on the language that was used by Rafiq to people that were paying him for hospitality. The hotel can’t survive without hospitality and they promised us a technician, few people for staff. And we got was three non functional mics during the event and one which didn’t have battery, no bellboy for baggages and the logistics for event. The food wasn’t prepared on time. The manager, Rafiq or the sub-manager Usha wasn’t present during the havoc situation, the food was not served warm and they charged us for 20 more people on the people who didn’t eat. On talking to their senior Mr. Gopinath instead listening to our grievances he was siding to the staff and they did not reimburse the amount for any other discounts or different additional services. ON TOP OF THAT THE CONFERENCE ROOM DOESN’T COME WITH A GREEN ROOM. Please don’t even get me started on the experience 6 months ago for a birthday and this extra smart and too damn confident called Rafiq was misbehaving with WOMEN. And again by the end of the event he again DIDN’T RESPECT WOMEN, why did I expect something else? The person Gopinath is the reason why the management is so pity-full.
I would say go to Shivam Sundaram or Shiv Sagar. They respect the people and had amazing event done there.
And Mr. Gopinath please don’t copy paste the same review as you have been doing for other reviews. THIS ISN’T A GOOD REVIEW make sure.
Oh also HIGHLY RECOMMENDED The Fern learn from above mentioned...
