Fleur -The Fern Goregaon. This place has taken be by surprise. A compact Place which serves Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner (busy the whole day) but with a Big Heart. The entire team (f n b) to the executive Chef, Sous Chef Sagar has curated a simple yet classy menu at the same time Compact menu for the In house guests as well as walk Inn. One needs to make reservation as this place tends to get packed. Saturday Dinner was awesome. Indian and Chinese was spot on. Priced at 825+ worth every penny. As I said a compact spread which caters to one and all.
Salad section was good. Both veg and Non Veg. The Locals would have loved the Chakli/Ghatia/Chiwda which is part of the spread. Basically It's Salads/Composed salads/Soups/Tandoor kebabs/Indian Mains/Western Mains/Oriental Mains and Desserts. I may have missed out a couple of counters I guess.
Started with Samudari Seekh - loved the softness and presentation. Spices balanced well. A bit of balsamic enhanced the dish. Fish Finger with French fries was worth a try. Chicken Tikka was made well (nice marination) Chicken Hoisin - well made dish (balanced well) with bell pepper/scallions/onions and a dash of balsamic. Overall a nicely done dish. Both The Vegetarian and Non Veg salad (Chicken added) were made well. Crunchy/fresh with Honey lemon dressing.
Paneer Zafrani Tikka - wow this was a killer of a dish. Soft melt in mouth with a rich marination. Worth a try (hope they have it on the menu) after a long time got go have such a soft Paneer. Hare Matter Ki Tikki was made well - balance of spices and flavours was just perfect. Stir Fried vegetables in Schezwan sauce - here I would compliment the chef for the batter. Crunchy and thin layer. Not overpowering just a perfect dish as a starter.
Bakery in house - their beards are worth a try. A couple of other dishes from the menu were good as well. Kadai Paneer had the wow factor (reminded me of Do Pyaza) rich and perfect in spices. Chole Tamatar is a dish for which I can come to this place anytime. So was the Tendli ki Sabzi (its Ghar ka Khana)
In western we tried the Baked Potato and stuffed Zucchini in spicy tomato sauce - both were rich one had cream and other had the cheese along with cream and Tangy tomato gravy. Try it out. My partner tried the Thai Curry (green) which had a lovely texture and the Hakka noodles which good.
Coming to Other dishes - Butter chicken (fantastic) lovely thick texture with cream and chura Paratha. Perfect In spices. Nicely Balanced. Dal Makhani was another killer of a dish. But the Star dish was the Mutton Rogan Josh - wow, hats off to the chef. Slow cooked, tender aromatic at the same time had the flavours and perfect blend of spices (cardamom/clove etc) a pure Kashmiri delight made in Mumbai. Guess one of the most delicious mutton I have had in a long time.
A bit of Grilled fish in herb Butter sauce was good. Chicken in black pepper sauce was good as well (grilled pieces if chicken) with Broccoli/bell pepper and zucchini. To end it was the Biryani and Raita. As far as I know and I have had at this price, it's one of the best and FVM buffet in the city.
Desserts were Yum. Affogato was superb. Brownie was rich with almonds and pistachio. Pineapple cake was fresh and soft. Kiwi/Dragon fruit served in a martini glass was icing on the cake.
Overall - VFM this place rocks. Be it Indian Chinese Western Desserts they have put their heart and soul. Keep it up and hope to see you soon for a Sunday Brunch. Till...
Read moreFluer, meaning flower. Speaking of flowers the fancy thing about them is that flowers are so pleasing to the eye , it's fragrance it's beauty all So perfect . The Fern is no different . The irony lies here, well the fern is the flowerless plant where as the fluer is a flower 😍 . Confused right!? Well let me break it down to you. The flowers of the Fern are the dishes and various cuisines they serve! Yes you heard it right. A top class delicacy outlet with beautifully presented dishes.
The outlet is located right on the side of Western Express Highway at Goregaon and is easy to locate. They offer Indian as well as International dishes both ,in their buffet and A-la-Carte section.
A Mesmerizing ambience and to add to it ,we had the chef himself come up to for a warm welcome and present each dish with such enthusiasm and excitement and that's when you know with what passion and love they prepare their food for us. Kudos to Chef Sagar there! 👏
To start off with the "Appetizers" it was a bang and hence the name: •The Bang Bang Chicken: The name beautifully represents the dish.Scallions soft chicken marinated with peanut butter and garnished with spring onions left. a big bang on the tastebuds. Highly Recommended.
•Paneer Pepper Parsley Tikka: Not a huge fan of paneer but after this dish I'd scoop for it anytime .Paneer tikka in four different kinds of peppercorn, Black, white , green and sichuan peppercorn. Never thought too many ingredients could make an amazing dish. Amazing indeed!
•Fish Shanghai: Fish cooked in shanghai sauce, soft ,well cooked and nicely presented, this dish was miles away from my expectations . Highly Recommended yet again.
•Mutton seekh Kebabs: The uniqueness of this dish lies in the parathas they serve. Ring shaped parathas rolled no different from the seekh was something really good. Perfectly cooked ,perfectly spiced with ghee with a touch of sweetness and some green chutney. Mind blowing! Do I have to mention? Highly recommended!
Moving on to the Main course, It consisted of four different types of Naan and was served along with Dhaba gosht, Murgh Makhni, Dal Bukhara and paneer tak-ke-tin.
•Murgh Makhani, a doubled cream shredded tandoori chicken was rich and creamy in flavor.
•Dhaba gosht is the meat curry cooked with caramelized onion and the best was the Dal Bukhara buttery and delicious.
Now the most beautiful part of the meal were the Desserts.
•Coffee Tiramisu: Full marks to the presentation there! Mascarpone cheese infused with equitable amount of coffee with a chocolate stick served along with chocolate chip cookie. Worth it all 👌
•Apple pie: Pie with apple filling served along with walnut dipped in honey and topped with sugar dust, again something unique both in taste as well as look wise.
Last but not the least, •Cheese cake with gulab jamun The Best cheesecake in town I must say. Soft and delicious cheese cake with gulab jamun on top sprinkled with chocolate dust just too good.
Almost all the dishes here are highly recommended. Heads up to the presentation, service, staff, the place and of course the Chef 🙌🏼
So now, get up and head towards THE FERN and enjoy savouring their mouth...
Read moreIt had to be occassion of birthday of my friend and i started searching for some good lunch buffet near goregaon thats when i found this place on zomato and made prior reservation as normally this place is crowded.
I must say i made no mistake by making booking over here. Amazing ambience of this restro Situated inside a hotel. Though the restro was small but sufficient.
Food:- They had lot of items in buffet. Starting with soup they served corn clear soup which was very good and quiet healthy too. Next appetizers were served to us on table As we being vegetarians always there is a negative Over non vegetarians as they get to eat more at same price. So in appetizers they served 2starters One was paneer appetizer and other was bruchetta. To be true i have never had such a bruchetta. It was amazing in taste. Appetizers were served with Green chutney,Schezwan Sauce and cheesy dip. Next will move forward to salads which were very tasty. Then in main course we had oriental noodles along with some gravy. Four Indian main course- palak, paneer, cabbage and karela from this we tasted just one that was of paneer. Its very unusual to find all this indian maincourse in restuarant and so i told manager named Mr. Mihir over there the same thing and he explained us that people who reside in their hotel like to have homely food so they keep it that way and he even told we can make any of the dishes that you want.
Then we ordered for pasta from live counter which was very creamy and really so tasty cant let its taste go away. In beverages they had kept some drink it was kind of roofsa and it was really very refreshing like best to beat the heat and thats a must try. They served us another moctail mango slush as we were not so happy with main course and they wanted even we to be happy so they got this for us which was again very good and refreshing.
There were too many desserts and cut fruits over there out of which we had:- Hazlenut Pannacota, Blueberry Perfait and peanut and butter yogurt and out of this Blueberry Perfait is a must try.
At the end as it was occassion of birthday, they made cake and brownie which tasted amazing.
Service:- This place truly belives in service. I Havent seen such service anywhere else. Manager Mr. Mihir himsekf kept on checkimg that all was well and whenever he felt we are unhappy, he tried to make happy by serving dish outside buffet. Chef Sagar, he too came down to us and checked if all is going well with the food. Service was topnotch. They served amazing cake and brownie to make us happy which was amazing gesture and they all celebrated my friend's birthday together which was amazing. Best service ever Truly worth money. Only one recommendation, keep more of main course and also more in live counters. Amazing service and ambience. Food was also good I would rate 5* on my next visit definately if i found more of main course there. Highly recommended to visit this place...
