This review is not only about the Pearl but all similar so called budget hotels nearby and their modus operandi. I stayed there for eight days in Sept 2024. I booked through Agoda and got it for 900 as they were running some discount and may be my stay was quite long. Location: it's located in the APMC market, which is in the Sanpada area of Navi Mumbai. It's not a residential area. You will see Trucks parked all around and few slums. But this is the reality of many areas in Mumbai. I have lived in Mumbai for several years previously. Nearby there are few cheap hotels/lodges, a bar (dancebar) and a place for adult entertainment. Similar activity goes on in nearby hotel under the closed door. Though no one mends with your business and safety is not a concern for men. For single female and family it is not a place. Though couples come here to rent rooms for few hours. Hotel: its actually many rooms stuffed in an old renovated property. So the space is very congested, rooms are small with low ceilings, running tapes and worst thing is they are smelly and stinking given lack of airflow, cleanliness etc. I had to be very careful as if I raise my hands I hit the ceiling fan. There is no hot water, which is very much required in Mumbai monsoon. They have a common geyser I guess but they don't turn on regularly! So I went out and bought a heater coil, room freshner, and fenyl to make things bit easier. Staff/service: I called on penultimate day to see if I can get a check-in by 9 and they said ho jayega. The opposite guy was my fellow gujju and i thought i will have a good stay but they proved me wrong. When I reached the room was not available yet, so eventually I changed my clothes in a common bathroom as I had to reach office by 10. And kept the luggage at reception. When came back at 7 my luggage was still there and they haven't alloted a room which they eventually did as per my booking of a non ac 2 bed. However they wanted to give me a much smaller single bed room which is as good as a dormitory though my booking was confirmed for a 2. Next day the reception guy called, sir you have to change the room as we have alloted a bigger room to you. I said I had booked a 2 bed only and you confirmed but he was not ready to listen and said you paid much less and we had some fight over the phone. So he said that either you change or cancel or you have to pay more if you want to stay in the same room. The tone was really bad and insulting. This is the modus operandi of all similar hotels nearby which I mentioned at the start. Online they advertise bigger rooms, but when you reach they either alllot smaller rooms or ask for money. So I contacted Agoda Customer Care and raised the complaint. They recognized the issue and directly contacted the hotel and gave them some tough lessons, after which the reception guys stopped looking at me. And I stayed in the room till check out. First two days was difficult to get a sleep but with room freshner things became easier. Food. I never ordered even a tea from their pantry given the kind of cleanliness I had seen there. For morning tea and breakfast there is a restaurant on the opposite corner run by Anna where you get good tea and poha/misalpav/meduvada/puri bhaji. Zomato/swiggy delivery is also available with many good options and swift delivery. I used to order my lunch online. For dinner I used to walk 🚶♂️ 500 meters towards sanpada station from hotel. Where you have a fantastic place called Tirupati Dosa just crossing the signal on LHD near some electronics shops. Loved their variety of dosas and ate for 3 days. For veggies other good option is Visawa for which you have to go right from the sigal and their dal Khichdi and Palak paneer was amazing. There are several other restaurants and eateries near Visawa buy I couldn't explore. So the hotel, if you are on a very thin budget and short stay for day or two it can be managed. You just get a bed to sleep and a washroom, that's it. With some stink of course 😋 for people I think one should learn to beat them in...
Read moreI had to stay here accidentally for 1 day due to a wrong booking done by my staff which I really paid for. The hotel is located in a truck depot with a lot of workshops on both sides of the hotel. The place is so dirty and full of trucks with water lodged everywhere on the road. It's too smelly outside. Unbearable. Now coming back to the room the blanket was dirty and it was not washed for a long time which was clearly evident from the view. The most disgracing thing was the dust bin in the room was not at all cleaned with leftover unwanted stuff inside. When complained they just came and took it away casually. The room is too congested to move. No place to keep your luggage etc. A/C will trip several times throughout the night and every time you have to call the reception to bring it back. The corridor in the reception leading to the lift is also dirty with towels kept in corners to capture water or something. It's a horrible scene. For the rate that you pay may get other properties elsewhere. No restaurants in the hotel and nearby also. But they do order food from some other restaurants and will deliver to your room. But keep an hour time period for this. If you want a tea go out and you can find small tea tables outside for the truck drivers etc which is full of flies which a normal person cannot stand. Absolutely unacceptable. AVOID. !!!!!...
Read moreThis hotel has very tiny rooms with tiny beds all in the name of double bedroom. The beams inside the hotel lobbies and inside rooms hit even the people of small height like 5ft. 6 in. Due to very low ceiling height wall mounted fans are fixed on the ceilings instead of ceiling fans. The toilet doors are very low height again. The tariff including breakfast is a waste as they provide only one dish like poori, idly, dosa only. Very tiny soap is given as toiletry. This hotel seems to be meant for "dwarfs of Snow white" and not for normal height people. The tariff they charge is very high compared to the facilities provided. In short this hotel is good only from outside and useless from inside....and not even worth single star rating. Don't be carried away by the hotel pictures you find while booking this hotel. This hotel...
