First things first, this is a home stay with limited staff where the owner himself serves food. Do not expect hotel-like facilities and services in this commune like set up. Infact consider yourself at home and do most things yourself. Once you reconcile to this idea, you will get the most out of this place. It is a fantastic heritage property within the chittor fort premises from where you get an awesome hilltop view of the town. The owner Mr Vijay is a sweet and courteous guy who will help you with everything as long as he is there. In fact he went out of the way to meet my specific demands like jaggery tea. But at night there is no one. Literally no one in my case as I was the only guest that day who was occupying one of the 5 rooms. Since I was solo travelling, it felt adventurous but I may not be comfortable bringing in family when it is lonely here. The rooms are done in the traditional rajasthani style but maintenance might be an issue for cleanliness freaks. I found it acceptable though. Also there is no ventilation in rooms. The budget rooms are small and have no inlet for air and light while the deluxe rooms are bigger with windows that are sealed with glass. So no air inflow there too, just the street view. The street down is a little noisy till about midnight. Food is a challenge and for dinner you will have to roll down the hill 2 km by either hitchhiking or by a tempo which is rare after 8pm. Mr Vijay said his cook has gone on leave, hence the problem. He anyway prepared breakfast at the rooftop restaurant for me. He is a poor communicator though. Since there is mainly only fort to see in Chittor, proximity to it is a major advantage. Both the stay and food is quite affordable and the free wifi is good. I will visit again.

It's a very unique fort of Rajasthan, India. Beginning in the 7th century, the fort was controlled by the Mewar Kingdom. In 1303, the Turkic ruler of Delhi, Alauddin Khalji defeated Rana Ratan Singh's forces at the fort. In 1535 Bahadur Shah, the Sultan of Gujarat, defeated Bikramjeet Singh and took the fort. In 1567 Akbar defeated Maharana Udai Singh II's troops. These events have been portrayed in recent bollywood movie "Padmavat" Following these defeats, the women are said to have committed jauhar or mass self-immolation.

Room, location and food all are excellent, i tried Mewar special veg ....too good, yummy. Owner is very cooperative. Staff is polite. However we stayed 1 day only but overall good experience. You can book auto rikshaw or plan with your own vehicle and stay here so easy access to fort as it's located in fort area only. Worth to visit and try to recall our great history... where sacrifice, love, devotion all will touch your heart..no doubt. Pls visit all temples as well...very positive vibes..

Chittorgarh fort is amazing. Inside the fort are Jain and Hindu temples and is situated a top a plateau with wonderful views in every direction. On the down side- it was the only place I felt threatened while in Rajasthan. I was touring the fort during a holiday on March 21, 2019. While I was amongst the crowds people were friendly and a lot of people wanted to take selfie's with me, which is quite common. After eating lunch I followed the road on the back side of the plateau to get back to my hotel. Suddenly I noticed the road was blocked by 3motorcycles. I slowed down and 3 young Indians covered head to foot in colored green, orange, purple, red powders wanted to annoint me. Basically taking handfuls of powder and throwing them on me . This is a big part of the festival, pranking people with powder. I didn't want to be covered but they did threw their powders anyway and I got angry. I shouted a couple expletives and road off on my motorcycle. Apparently the three took offense and followed me at high speed on their motorcycles and threw powder at me while I was riding. I was blinded by the dust and had to stop and get the powder out of my eyes. Continuing on, the guys are once again blocking the road and trying to grab my ignition key while I fortunately weaved my way through their blockade. I think they had been drinking and had I gone along with their antics it wouldn't have escalated. The fort and temples are amazing and I rank it as one of my favorite places to visit...

Hotel Chittorgarh Fort Haveli in just 500 MTR from Fort Enterance which is just walkable. Property has 5 rooms out of which 3 small room but bathroom are big while 2 rooms are s|lightly big but small bathroom. The hotel provide breakfast at second floor/roof top which include Poha, bread and butter and Omlate with tea and coffee. Lunch or dinner is like home made but no spicy. If you want dinner outside then you have to come down at city. Odd hrs no conveyence available nearby. Hotel management provide vehicle on paid basis at odd hrs. In Toiletory only towel, toilet paper roll and one local soap. Hotel is refusing Tax Invoice even for 2200/- per day room.|Best thing is near Fort gate|Worst is no market, no conveyence, no Toiletory and no tax invoice.|I wonder how this property rating is among top| while there are so many property in Chittorgarh even much cheaper. Enclosed photo shows their billing while 160 INR in total included for drop at Bus stand at 6 am. Probably they are not paying GST to govt while payment is done online. Photos are from...
