The haveli is situated in a quiet neighbourhood- close enough to amazing restaurants, the fort and shops. The moment you step in, it feels like you’ve entered in a palace fit for Maharajas. Every nook and cranny is decorated with beautiful pieces and amazing Jaisalmeri textiles adorn the walls and the floors of the haveli. The house is filled with beautiful coffee table books and novels. They have brass pots everywhere, which they use as an ingenious alternative to bins. The bedroom is massive and has the prettiest bed by the window. The bathroom comes with every amenity imaginable. It is quite obvious that a lot of thought and love has gone into maintaining the haveli and with the help of the amazing Bhanu ji and Rajan, the 3 day experience at hamari haveli was worth a lifetime. They pulled out all the stops to make our trip memorable- from hiring the most knowledgeable guide for 2 days (Satish ji) to arranging a ride to the desert and showing us the Killa Bhawan. I was dying to buy some jewellery and Bhanuji personally dropped me off at an amazing location in the gullys of Sonaarpada. The architecture of the house is amazing and makes you want to spend your whole time in the haveli- Rajan’s omelettes and parathas would make it worthwhile! I would definitely recommend booking this place as your accommodation as I will be doing the same when I visit...

For a quieter get away in Jaiselmer, I can recommend no better place than the Hamari Haveli. This two bedroomed town house is run by the Hotel Killa Bawan cousins, and has all the character and style of that amazing eyrie high up in the fort.
The Hamari Haveli is cleverly designed for two couples, or a family, or even for a writer seeking the surroundings of Jaiselmer without the distraction.it is set in a quiet neighbourhood looking out onto an intimate square with a ruminating cow and a couple of grannies exchanging memories under a neem tree.
It is an old, traditional Haveli with a narrow inner courtyard open to the sky separating the two bedrooms upstairs and the dining room and sitting room downstairs. There is also an ample, well equipped kitchen for self catering, or for the friendly staff who can easily cater for you. At the very top of the Haveli is a good private space on the roof terrace with seating and low tables.
Throughout it is decorated with care and style, and I imagine it could quickly become home to welcome you back from a foray in lively Jaiselmer. It is a quiet and comfortable, quiet retreat in the middle of this rich and...
Read moreHamari Haveli, previously Hamari Haveli by Moustache, is a cozy, wonderful gem in the main chowk of Gundipara, very peaceful quadrangle in a residential sub-lane yet with ample parking and access opportunity because of its location. A partnership property operated by a very hospitable local elite host from a popular family and a French person, the haveli has the best of ethnic and chic elements to offer. The proprietor is very helpful from bringing personally local breakfast and cuisine for the guest to arranging the best walking tours and guides for you. It is actually a very old, heritage house which has been well maintained and added with modern amenities like AC, geyser etc, more like a heritage stay, with a feel like a tome-travel without loosing the comforts of the contemporary times. Very close to the entrance of the fort and very much walkable to the main market area...
