This is the loveliest place to eat inside the fort!!! I came across this restaurant one sunny afternoon while exploring the golden city and it is now my FAVOURITE spot. The rooftop has an incredible view looking down over all of Jaisalmer - a view i had not seen anywhere else before. You can see the city, the lake and endless flat land stretching to the horizon. Inside they have the most amazing and cozy dining room with golden stone walls and magnificent carpets, rugs, cushions, couches and colourful decorations. There are low set tables and also comfy spacious window seats - again with the most amazing view looking down on the city. This is definitely my favourite spot to eat in Jaisalmer! The chicken curry and the laal maas from here are just so good! The food is amazing and affordable. The atmosphere of this place is also just unbeatable!! The staff are so friendly and the chef Jafar particularly was so kind and made sure we were very happy with everything! I highly recommend coming and trying the food here, because it will NOT disappoint.

Also beware! — On the way walking here i have had people on the street (maybe from other restaurants) try to tell me that Angaara restaurant is closed today and i should go eat somewhere else instead but do not believe these people!! I checked with the chef and the opening hours are 7am - 11pm everyday, so it is basically...

Visited the Angaara Restaurant on 30th December night, amazing place, amazing ambience, insane food and great hospitality. Already decided to visit tomorrow again on 31st night :) Must try their laal maas and white mutton!

Update after the third visit:

I went there 3 days in a row, 2 dinners and one lunch, the food is the best! For the 31st night, we chose a corner on the top watching the city view with a folk music in the background. They had a small cake cutting ceremony at 12 AM for new year, really sweet gesture! Everytime the hospitality was above par, must try their laal maas and white mutton, even the chicken soup is very homely. Got the food packed as well for the train journey...
