From the moment our car pulled up to the hotel and we got a glimpse of its facade, we were excited. The staff opened the gate for the car to pull inside and came to the car to grab our luggage. Babu pulled the entrance door open for us and welcomed us with amazing warmth. He told us to consider this hotel our second home and everyone made sure we truly felt like we were at home but treated us like royalty. Everyone was so incredibly kind that we were awe struck. ||After checking in, we were shown to the room they had reserved for us. Words could not express how ecstatic we were to get a glimpse of the magnificent room and set foot inside. The room was luxurious and spacious with a king’s canopy bed, window bench seats with thick cushions, table and chair, desk and chair, vanity, luggage racks, closet and safe, mini fridge, a table with coffee, tea, and free large bottles of water. The bathroom was tremendous as well with full amenities including full toiletries kit, slippers, and bath robes.||Walking through the courtyard and halls of this magnificent haveli style hotel, with its many carefully hand picked artifacts was like stepping into a Time Machine into an otherworldly era. ||The pool was clean and beautiful. There were many lounge chairs around the pool, some with covered canopies, some without. The space was very serene and relaxing. The pool water was not heated but perfect for a hot day. ||The rooftop dining room overlooking the fort was beautifully set up. There were many seating options as well as some with canopies. We had a welcome drink on the roof and enjoyed the views of the fort at night. We also had breakfast there one morning and enjoyed the canopy setting with the curtains blocking the bright sunlight that shone from one side The breakfast was a la carte and delicious. ||Babu and the rest of the staff were always ready to serve, no matter what we were doing. They were incredibly polite, kind, friendly, and courteous. I cannot say enough about our experience at this hotel. I highly recommend...
Read moreHotel Gulaal is THE BEST! The rooms are really comfy and nice, the location is great and the service is unparalleled.
Service - all around the service is 10/10 but what really sets them apart is how they go above and beyond. I unfortunately left our passports and some cash in a desk drawer in our room and didn’t realize until we reached Jodhpur a 6 hour train ride away. Victor went out of his way to figure out how to get it all to me. Not 24 hours later I had my passports and all of my cash. I’m so immensely grateful to him for taking the time and urgency to get this to us.
Rooms/facilities - the room we had was spacious and the bed was so soft and comfy. The Haveli courtyards are beautiful and the swimming pool is really nice. We spent way too much time in the shaded chairs by the pool jumping in whenever we needed to cool off.
Location - it is outside of the fort but that worked really nicely for us. We walked 15 minutes to the fort every morning until it got hot, then took a tuktuk back to eat breakfast at the hotel. Then we’d hang out at the pool all day, then go back to the fort for golden hour, sunset and dinner. Then walk back at night. It was nice to have some separation and quietness at the hotel. Plus walking back was really fun to see the city not just the fort.
Food - breakfast was included and really good. Highly recommend masala cheese omelette (masala means mixed in this case - tomato, cilantro, onion and peppers). For lunch we ordered masala papad, cheese naan and mango lassi by the pool - all delicious. We had one dinner at the hotel and shared malai kofta - it was just OK compared to other malai kofta we have had. Great view of the fort from the rooftop tables!
Overall highly recommend this hotel for your trip...
Read moreI loved the hotel!
The hotel was beyond my expectations! It was simply luxury and a sense of opulence for me. I would not call this a heritage hotel as it was recently built but it has been built in a heritage style and has that feel. It has very modern facilities and the staff are really friendly.
The views from the roof top are amazing. You can see Jaisalmer fort. I didnt get to see the sunset but I suspect that from the roof the sunset might fall behind the fort.
There was a small swimming pool but I didnt use it.
The restaurant is on the roof. I thought there was an amazing amount of selection. I stuck local cuisine and asked for advice as to what to get. Although I didnt like what I ordered it was more my taste as opposed to the quality of the cooking. I had breakfast included. They had a breakfast menu from which you could order whatever you wished. I imagine that they may make you something off menu if you requested it.
I had a massage and it was really good and painful. It made me realise how tight my calves are! I find massages in india such good value for money and this was no different. I paid 2800 for 90 minutes.
The room was really good. There was no safe. The bathroom is really big. The room had a built in long sofa by the window (not sure what the technical term is). It was really nice laying there and reading. The bathroom is really big. Shower is really good and you get hot water. My only critique was there was a picture of Arjun and Krishna from Mahabharat looking at me whilst on the toilet!
I was told from the staff to tip at the end and I liked that concept as it gave me time to think instead of getting stressed how much I should gove at each instant.
I would definitely come back and I think the hotel is...
