Rawai has excellent rooms, great facilities and pretty good staff and is let down by only one factor – its Owner’s overwhelming avarice compounded by pathetically inept management.

We stayed for 2 nights around Diwali (to avoid the post-Diwali haze in Delhi) and had booked a Stay + breakfast+ dinner package for 3 through Makemytrip.

For most of the trip, things broadly went OK until the dinner on the second night. There were many issues primarily arising from the fact that they were working with standby staff since some of the regular staff was away for Diwali. For e.g. On Day 1, exhausted from travel and sightseeing, we slept off by 10 pm but were woken up at 11:20 pm and asked if we wanted an additional bed for the 3rd person! Seriously – do you call up someone at 11:20 pm for this? On Day 2 at breakfast, we ended up waiting 25 minutes after ordering food. We realised that there were perhaps 3 people who were handling the cooking, serving and answering phones. At lunch, the waitress got us 3 soups but with only 1 spoon! Apparently this was the first time she was delivering food! We waited for 10 minutes and got the spoons with the next course. When we asked for room service (a masala chai) at 5:30 pm, we were told that it would take over an hour since they were busy. We decided to make do without it. We were cool about the above given that it was Diwali but as we later realised these were only dry-runs to the grand finale that we were treated to at ‘dinner’ .. which was a class apart!

When we reached the restaurant at 8:45 pm for dinner it was in total chaos. Tables & chairs and people moving all around and not a place to sit. We realised that this was on account of the café walkins which were continuing unabated. And that as prepaid inhouse guests – we were being accorded lowest priority. The café manager was trying to fob us a wall-facing row of 3 high chairs as the only option while at the same time telling a group of 12 that had just sauntered in that he would have them seated inside in a few minutes!

Finally we got seated after 20 min and immediately placed our order. Then the nightmare began. After seeing everyone around getting served over 30 minutes, when we remonstrated that they hadn’t even served us a glass of water, we got served just that! After 40 minutes by when even the walk-in group of 12 were served, we went downstairs to the reception and asked to cancel our dinner and breakfast next morning (since we could clearly see which way their service was going). The manager tried for 10 min to reach his own people in the café and failed! We finally went to our room around 10 pm! After we ate some biscuits, khakras and got set to sleep, around 10:20 pm, some food finally arrived which we turned away.

Next morning at checkout, we were given a part-refund (Rs. 3,000 out of Rs. 5,000 extra charged /day for breakfast+lunch option) ostensibly on grounds that the rest is GST (for service not rendered?). By then we had reached a state of we-just-want-to-be-out-of-this-nightmare at any cost!

Any customer centric service provider would have prioritised prior commitments over new business OR would have alerted house guests with packages to order early. At the very least, if we were told that dinner would take 1.5 hrs, we would have stepped out at 8:45 pm and eaten elsewhere. But a combination of Rawai's greed and incompetence made this a truly ‘memorable’ visit! Never ever paid good money to be humiliated! And this was Humiliation Par Excellence!!

My advice to anyone considering this hotel. Avoid staying here on weekends & festival season when the walkins are high If you still choose to go, don’t opt for their meals packages (anyways breakfast package is costlier than paying at the restaurant; dinner package works out slightly cheaper but as a cash customer, you have the choice to step out AND even the hotel will treat you better than a prepaid customer!). And there is no risk of...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Rawai Luxury Tents in Pushkar, and it was truly a delightful experience. Nestled in the heart of Pushkar, this resort offers a serene and spiritually significant location, just 300 meters away from Savitri Mata temple and a short 500-meter walk from the Brahma Mandir via the rear gate.

The Swiss tents provided the perfect blend of luxury and comfort. Upon entering, I was impressed by the spaciousness and thoughtful appointments of the rooms. The large, comfortable beds ensured a restful sleep, and the cozy seating areas were perfect for relaxation. The modern amenities, including air conditioning, fans, a television, and mirrors, catered to every need. Additionally, the attached bathroom was impressively spacious and equipped with a closet featuring a safe for added security. I loved spending time on the balcony with its seating and traditional charpoy, which offered a wonderful space to enjoy the picturesque views.

The resort's beautifully maintained swimming pool added to its allure, providing a refreshing oasis for relaxation and leisure. The well-kept lawns and gardens showcased the staff's dedication to maintaining the property's charm and elegance.

As for dining, the food at Rawai Luxury Tents was decent, although it mainly consisted of an all-vegetarian fare. While the meals were satisfactory, I felt that the breakfast buffet could have offered a few more options to cater to diverse tastes.

What truly set this resort apart was its exceptional service. The staff was attentive and hospitable throughout my stay, and I must mention Chintu, who stood out with his warmth, ever-present smile, and helpfulness, making me feel well-cared-for and welcome.

Overall, Rawai Luxury Tents provided an ideal retreat in Pushkar. The spiritually significant location, coupled with the well-appointed and spacious tents, made for a comfortable and memorable stay. Whether relaxing by the inviting swimming pool, exploring the nearby temples, or simply enjoying the tranquility of the property, it was an experience that left me feeling rejuvenated. If you're seeking a serene and well-maintained haven in the heart of Pushkar, this resort is an excellent choice for your...

Review for Rawai Luxury Tents, Pushkar We stayed in several tents and found that the conditions vary slightly from tent to tent. Nights are very cool, while days can get quite warm—so be prepared for the temperature swings. The staff is friendly and helpful, but the place is noticeably run-down and in need of maintenance. They really need to bring in someone with solid service experience to improve operations. Cleanliness is acceptable by Indian standards but does not come close to European expectations. While the property itself is well-kept, the surrounding area is unfortunately covered in litter and trash, which is a shame as it detracts from the natural beauty of the location. The on-site Café Sol6 serves decent food, but keep in mind that no alcohol, meat, or even eggs are available due to the camp’s proximity to a temple. If you want drinks, you’ll need to bring your own. A major inconvenience is that international credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners) as well as Google Pay and Apple Pay are NOT accepted, so make sure to bring enough cash or a local payment method. One of the more bizarre aspects of the stay: despite the strict no-alcohol policy, desert parties nearby can get extremely loud and excessive. If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs! Also, pack warm pajamas, as the tents provide little insulation against noise and cold. Overall, a unique experience with friendly staff, but the property needs serious upkeep and better management. Be prepared for the quirks, bring cash, and plan accordingly. We had a good time

Rawai will always hold a very special place in my heart — it’s not just a resort, it’s home away from home. I started coming here during one of the toughest phases of my life, and somehow this place knew exactly how to heal me — with its calm, its charm, and of course, the warmest four-legged therapists, Phoebe & Alba (missed you, Alu 💔). This time was short, just 2 days — and it honestly felt incomplete. We’ve never stayed for less than 3, and now I know why... leaving is so much harder when you aren’t ready to say goodbye. And how could I forget — a BIG thank you to your amazing team for serving us papad-mangodi on special request! The food here always hits differently, and this little gesture made it even more special. 💛 I so badly wanted Zoey to meet the pookie babies this time, and yeye it happened I will come back soon — and I absolutely will. With more days, more cuddles, and hopefully all my furballs in one frame. Till next time, Rawai. You’ve been pure magic. 🐾✨
