Homestays Ludhiana — Hotel in Rajguru Nagar

Nothing really homely about this homestay!

We selected the only room on the ground floor as I have a problem with climbing stairs. The rooms, dining space, common area and the small garden area are all very aesthetically pleasing and clean. Amenities were good too. There is a very short ramp from the road leading to the house and two cars can be parked there. The homestay is in a completely residential neighborhood but there are eating joints nearby and one can order in food. There's a kitchen, fridge and a microwave and one can heat up outside food. Though it's called a homestay, there's nothing homely about this. It's basically a house in a residential neighborhood with around ten similar double rooms with attached bathroom. There is no interaction between guests and the owners. So I found the name completely misleading. In a new city, when someone wants a real homestay this one doesn't match.

The complementary breakfast which was part of my booking is too simple, lacks variety. I stayed for two nights. The first day we opted for bread omlette which I made myself. The next day it was puri-sabji which was nothing to boast about. It was too bland. The only staff is a father-son duo of which the father is the cook and the son runs errands and mans the counter.

So I booked this place for one night on the 16th April 2022. I was looking for a place with my pet and this was listed as a pet friendly space. Anyway no confirmation call from the hotel , on my way to the hotel I thought of calling them and letting them know what time I would be arriving; and that’s when they tell me pet will not be allowed. This is when I’m already on my way to Ludhiana from delhi with the pet. Refused to budge or even understand the fact that I had no time to look for and book another place. The host was extremely rude and not willing to understand or accept his mistake. Had to change my plan to stay at Chandigarh instead , could not find a place last minute. The entire travel experience was very harrowing because of the hosts unprofessional behaviour. Would not recommend this place to anyone purely on the hosts attitude. In 20 years of my travel experience have never had to deal with a person like this. I did not have a chance to stay and can’t really comment on anything else. But I surely will...
