Hotel Golden Nest — Hotel in Sikkim

After a long road trip from NJP we reached gangtok and the initial thought of the hotel was in one word "shabby". It was a bit far from the MG Road , its about 800mts to 1 KM walk, but that is flat , so you do not have to climb up or go down hill. You can see only other hotel from the rooms and the lobby. So do not expect to see any hill from the hotel. The room had few spiders and when we complained they just sprayed baygon and caught few of them and said they won't harm you! The flush in one of the rooms was not working and in another room the geyser was not working. Nothing could be done about the geyser but another guy checked the flush and said that you have to flush 3 times and it would work. In one of the rooms the TV plug was not there and they just plugged in the wire to the socket :) nice way .||||The service was good for the first day as there were very few guests. The next day all the rooms were full and service was no where to be seen. Note that I generally tip the attendants with 20 rupee notes for almost any service. But it was not working here !||The food was very bad to say the least and then the next day the cook was not well. But we found a restaurant Babumasai nearby which serves good food. ||||The rooms were not cleaned during our 2 day stay. They charged Rs. 1000 per room per day but it is not worth...

Damp spotted walls. Dirty windows. Smelly wardrobe. No toiletries. Single towel given only when asked for. Single person managing both front desk and attending calls to rooms, so service wise not good too. Bed, pillow covers etc not very clean. Got hotel at cheap price but their service is not good. They didn't even provide clean towels and water to drink. If u leave early morning there is no one to help u with Ur luggage. Geysers also...
