We would like to thank hotel and its staff to give us complementary early check-in. The taxi charges approximately 150 to 200 (in Mar 2022) to go from Siliguri bus station to this hotel.
Staffs were very friendly and they helped us to carry out bags to our room. There are 2 parts of hotel. We were given rooms above restaurant, which is at the ground floor.
Staffs at the restaurant were very friendly, attentive and co-operative. We booked for buffet breakfast (almost 300 per person incluidng GST). Food was good but the replenish rate was slow. Limited choice of food but the food was tasty.
We booked 3 rooms. Bathroom was clean and hot water supply was available 24x7. Remotes (TV and AC) were given upon request and most of them were not in working condition. Recharge in TV is due in all the rooms. Even after request to recharge, no action was taken.
AC in one of the room was giving out hot air and bed were torn. Our room was changed but the AC was still giving hot air most of the times. We complained about this after dinner but we were told there is no maintenance engineer in the night, they can help to check in the morning. The room was too hot, we had to finally switch off the AC to sleep peacefully. The room was not having any window, which made it very unconfotable to sleep.
Only few request (1 out of 5) through call at reception is accomodated immediately. Rest required few reminders. Even at reception, any request which may take some time is accepted with nod but it is forgotten as most of them is not communicated properly.
There is no elevator in this hotel. So it good to book lower floor rooms, specially if you are with senior citizen or kids. There is an electrical grid behind the hotel.
This hotel has a great potential to be rated as excellent. Complementary or subsidized rate can be offered for transportation from hotel to Siliguri railway station. Information about tours can be arranged for guests.
Maintenance and normal weekly checks of every items can be introduced to prevent guests to complain. It can be resolved in advance. Damaged items or unhygienic items should be discarded to prevent re-use. Proper ventilation (instead of just using Haier company AC). Recreation room for kids can be introduced. TV recharge should be in time in...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate opportunity to stay at Mount Amara Hotel & Spa in Siliguri, and I must say that my experience left much to be desired. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that the establishment fell short in several aspects.
First and foremost, the cleanliness of the hotel was a major concern. The lobby seemed unkempt, with dust accumulating in corners and a lingering musty odor that was hard to ignore. It was clear that the cleaning standards were not up to par, making me question the overall hygiene of the entire premises.
The room itself was a disappointment. Not only was it considerably smaller than advertised, but the furnishings appeared dated and worn. The bed linens and towels had visible stains, which made me uncomfortable even considering using them. Additionally, the lack of proper soundproofing was a major issue; I could hear noises from neighboring rooms and the hallway throughout the night, leading to a disrupted sleep.
The service was another letdown. The staff seemed disinterested and apathetic towards the guests. Requests for basic amenities took an excessive amount of time to fulfill, and there was a general lack of warmth and hospitality in their interactions. It was evident that guest satisfaction was not a priority for the hotel's management.
Furthermore, the hotel's dining options were limited and uninspiring. The breakfast spread was meager, with minimal variety and lackluster quality. It was clear that little effort was put into ensuring a satisfying dining experience for guests.
On top of these issues, the location of the hotel was less than ideal. It was situated in a noisy and congested area, making it challenging to find peace and relaxation during the stay.
In conclusion, my stay at Mount Amara Hotel & Spa in Siliguri was far from enjoyable. The lack of cleanliness, subpar room quality, indifferent staff, and unimpressive dining options collectively contributed to a disappointing experience. I would strongly advise anyone considering a stay at this hotel to explore alternative options in the area that prioritize guest comfort and satisfaction.

Read moreThere are many complaints pls strictly don't consider this hotel if you are traveling with your family. Here are complaints from my side
1.when you book a suite room ( booking was of 4 adults) . We reached hotel about 8 or 8:30 after traveling for more than 13 hours. When I reached the hotel with my family till this point staff's behaviour was well until we were directed to room . When you book a suite for 4 adults does that mean you will get only on double bed and for fourth person's after requesting the reception for more than five times they gave a " mattress " . Even in home if a guest come we give them a bad to sleep for free and here after paying we get this behaviour the receptionist is "fighting" with us I would request the management to teach there receptionist some manners and etiquette He was behaving like he is favouring us by giving the room. Please don't make a belief that all staff are wrong we ordered tea . The guy which came was so well behaved I don't know his name but he is quite young only the receptionist was the one who caused the problem. 3.location :- If you want tea the restaurant in hotel will open at 7 . So in this case you need to outsource. Even the first tea shop is 2 km away so carry your own tea bag. Conclusion:- the hotel is not too bad ac works and food is good (4.5) just it's the behaviour of receptionist which disappointed us and when they provide only a...
