Hotel Akash Continental (ZoukStayz) — Hotel in Uttarakhand

Very bad - Do not go by the ratings and photographs. There is nothing continental about this hotel. The Photos shown are different from what the rooms actually are. They have 4 floors, the dining area is on the 4th flr, and there is no lift. The sheets and pillows in the room are dirty and are perhaps reused without washing. The bathrooms stink. The toilet seats are unstable. We had booked from OYO and they didn't provide sealed water bottles as advertised, rather they provided used refilled bottles. The room service guys do not come even after repeated calls. The hotel is difficult to find and is located in a narrow lane. Final words: Don't get miffed by their photos in travel sites. A dharamshala in Laxman Jhula area would even be better.

Addition (Response to Hotel's response): Dear hotelier, please do not try to divert attention by quoting payment issues. There was no payment issue... period. Your hotel is bad, accept it and try to improve. There are a lot of areas where you need improvement. I agree that OYO maintains some standards. I don't know how you manage to bypass their checks. If you provide water in bottles, it should be sealed ones. Do not use the used plastic bottles again and again. These are meant for one-time use. By using those used bottles again and again, you (knowingly or unknowingly) make your guests drink millions of plastic micro-particles, which are carcinogenic in nature. Use steel jugs instead. I have given my honest review of your hotel, and if you go through all comments here and a other places, you will see that many have given similar reviews. Introspect and see the world around to know how a hotel should be and how an continental...

We have had a very horrible experience of the stay at goSTOPS... Grossly unhygienic, over rated, poor quality room and fixtures... and honestly horrible food to try.

The room description and size is a bluff, pictures that are shown are photoshopped to the core.

We complained about the issues to the hotel staff as well as to the MMT helpline, but no help was provided. We requested for the room change, we were denied, whereas after a while later the receptionist was offering a vacant room to another set of travellers for exactly half the price we paid. I felt very offended and poorly treated.

There were cobwebs in our room, Bathroom Bin was already half filled when we checked in. .. floor also had grit marks, door side edge was broken, balcony door's hydraulic latch was broken,. curtain rod nearly fell over my head twice while trying to fix the curtain to cover up windows, bedroom Bin was broken, there was seepage on the walls, Stained table top and posters on walls, dirty as well as torn bed linen and when we were finally trying to sleep somehow, from balcony there was too much unwanted disco lights from the opposite hotel entering the room, which again made us very uncomfortable 😣.

Even outside the room, everywhere else in the hostel... it was not at all hygienic or clean as it is shown in the pictures.

I need Compensation for my time in GOSTOP. I felt Cheated and unheard.

GOSTOP was the worst, but I never expected this from MMT. I want the compensation in terms...

I wanted to take a break from my fast pacing life. Hence, I booked a month long stay at GoStops Tapovan in a 6 bed dormitory.

Since the maps were not accurate and I had considerable luggage on me, I called up the reception. The hostel staff was kind enough to send someone from their team to help me reach the location.

On reaching the hostel I saw some maintenance work in progress and I thought of cancelling my stay due to the inconvenience. But as and when time passed, they made me feel extremely comfortable. I was in a family like environment, feeling welcomed and warm.

Another star discovery was that each of the staff had a hidden talent and passion (manoj bhai magician, anuj (guide) , hemant and rakesh ji Night partner and a good story teller ,tiger and sharvan (pool players) and learned lot of new skills from them. The realisation of a very different but calm life seeped inside me. The concept of less is more was personified as living examples in from of my eyes. To this I wondered how people in fast moving city lives succumb to financial pressures and are unable to experience what life really is about.

My stay was pleasant and etched an unforgettable experience in my memory.

Gostops met every expectation but more and I will be happy to visit again.
