Pure Soul Cafe & Organic Kitchen — Restaurant in Uttarakhand

It was closest to the Antalya where we were staying and so on the first night of our stay we decided to have a dinner there. Finding the place on a rainy night, with only the lighting to show us the way, the narrow streets so confused Google that we had to retrace our steps a couple of times. The approach road is as if Nirvana has been achieved, fought the bulls and the cows to reclaim a foot space as far away from them, and looked at street dogs warily to check, if they don’t change their minds. After saving ourselves from rain by walking under the shelter provided by houses alongside the lanes, we finally reached the Oasis. A lovely décor, The Terrace was overly looking Ganges, as we were unbale to enjoy as it was raining and dark, though I am sure in winter months it would be a property to die for. Inside it was low seating and the idea was to sit on crossed legs, which though an Indian tradition a lot of 40+ yrs and may be younger lot would struggle. We ordered Rainbow Protein Salad – which was OK a solid 3/5 Mushroom Rissoto could be cooked better; but was flavourful so a 4/5. French fries was not as crispy as we would love to be – 3/5 Banana and Date Lassi had Sour Curd, so we had an unbalanced Sweet and sour Drink – 2/5 Thus a 3.5...

I have ordered 2 juices and have been their fist customer that day, later on people started coming in...getting their food and my juices still haven't been made, ok they forgot could happen ( still they try to convince me that my order came in later...how, i have been the first and just ordered beverages?) As i say i have ordered an orange juice and a mix if fennel and some fruits ( i have specially asked if that's a juice, because it was not mentioned under the smoothie section in the menu and the waiter assured me it's a slow pressed juice as i wanted. Well... orange - was a juice the second order was a random water nothing-like tasking pudding / smoothie Very disappointing. But now the cherry on top : when i left one one of the waiters being outside while i have payed ( 500 completely overpriced in my opinion ....) Really had the guts to shout over to me: hey lady did u pay the bill? They know nothing about customer- service , being very rude - not recommend going there at all!!! I genuinely wanted to give this place 5/5🌟 mainly due to the fact that from a distance (online research etc) it seemed to coincide with many of the elements I value, those being sustainably, vegan cuisine and organic produce. On closer inspection it fell just short. The space and decor are delightful, airy and (relatively) clean. The food is top notch for the most part and of very good quality. The staff seemed stern yet worked hard to keep up with the busy dining hall. One policy which invites a bit of discussion is the "leave the footwear outside" policy. In theory it sounds like a great idea, until one must venture to the rest room and thus enter the toilet cubicle and risk stepping in or on unidentified secretions.
