A Nightmare Experience with Trekt India - Avoid at All Costs!

Where do I even begin with my horrendous experience with Trekt India in Rishikesh? I had heard mixed reviews about this agency, but I decided to give them a chance. Big mistake! This was by far the worst traveling and rafting experience I've ever had.

Let's start with the customer service, or rather the lack thereof. The staff at Trekt India seemed completely disinterested in assisting their customers. They were rude, unhelpful, and lacked any sense of professionalism. It felt like they were doing us a favor by letting us book with them. The rafting trip itself was a complete disaster. First of all, the equipment provided was in terrible condition. The life jackets were old, worn-out, and didn't even fit properly. I felt unsafe throughout the entire trip. The rafts were equally dilapidated, with holes and patches all over them.

It's a miracle we didn't sink!

The guides were inexperienced and poorly trained. They didn't provide any safety instructions or briefings before the trip. It seemed like they were just there to paddle the raft without any concern for our well-being. At one point, our raft got stuck on a rock, and the guide seemed clueless about what to do. We were left stranded in the middle of the river for what felt like an eternity. To make matters worse, the promised "scenic views" were nowhere to be found. Instead of being surrounded by picturesque landscapes, we were met with litter and pollution along the riverbanks. It was a far cry from the serene and breathtaking experience we were expecting.

Even the logistical aspect of the trip was a disaster. The transportation arranged by Trekt India was late, and we wasted hours waiting for it to arrive. The whole ordeal was disorganized and chaotic, leaving us frustrated and exhausted.

To top it all off, when we complained to the management about our terrible experience, they were dismissive and unapologetic. They didn't take our concerns seriously and refused to provide any form of compensation or refund for the nightmare we had endured. In conclusion, I strongly advise against using Trekt India for your traveling and rafting needs in Rishikesh. Their lack of professionalism, subpar equipment, inexperienced guides, and overall disregard for customer satisfaction make them a complete and utter disappointment.

I wanted to share my positive experiences from my recent trips. In fact, I enjoyed my first trip so much that I booked another one to Camp Jugnoo within two weeks! A big thank you to Mr. Subodh for his excellent arrangements for both stays.

The rafting experience was truly fantastic. The pilots were well-trained and provided us with a detailed briefing, which helped ease our initial apprehension. Nagander and Mohan made our rafting adventure absolutely mind-blowing – thank you both!

The camp location itself was an adventure, with beautiful views. The staff was very cooperative, and the food was good. I also appreciated that the camp facilities were nicely maintained, and the washrooms were clean. The waterfall being just a short three-minute walk away was a wonderful bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the camp.

Overall, both of my experiences with Trekt India have been exceptional, and I would rate them a perfect 10/10.

I had read the amazing reviews for Trekt so decided I wanted to go with them on a hike to Kunkapuri (just a one day hike from rishikesh). Subodh was incredibly helpful as I was a solo traveler, offering me options to make it work. I decided to wait until others signed up to keep it within my budget and Subodh emailed as soon as people did so I could join a group hike. We had a wonderful day and Subodh was everything you’d want in a guide - friendly, knowledgeable, safe and of course he had so much insight as he is a local from the area. I had such a great day I wanted to do rafting with Trekt as well. Again, Subodh rang when he had some interest and we sorted it for the next day. Jitte was our guide who was absolutely brilliant (as was everyone we met). A wonderful company who I would trust implicitly for a any trip. I am tempted to do something more extreme with them...
