FILTHY, UNSAFE, SCAM BUSINESS - STAY AWAY!!!||Fab Hotel Green Arcade tried to get payment up-front through their own system before I arrived, even thought my Booking.com confirmation was “pay at property”. When I arrived staff took payment in cash and kept saying they would send me “confirmation of payment by 13:00 after checkout” instead of giving me a receipt. Then, after I left, they marked me as “no show” on Booking.com and are now, I assume, attempting to double charge me (since the booking is “non refundable”) and one’s card can be charged for no shows. Also the booking said “breakfast included” which I wouldn’t have eaten since the place was filthy, but at checkout they said they do not provide any food. Again this is 100% a scam for literally lying on their ad. ||Also, they make you check-in on a book that lists every other guest’s details for you to see, including confidential information like address, phone number, parents name etc. clear violation of confidentiality, and I’m worried they’ll now use my details now for a further scam. ||Unlike the online photos, which are 100% fake / old / photoshopped, the rooms themselves were FILTHY. Soiled bedsheets, paan (beetlenut) all over the walls, broken lock on the door (so unsafe to stay here as a woman, as I had no protection if a man wanted to enter my room as I slept), black stains all over the walls, lights fixtures hanging off walls. This place is literally in full dilapidation, so unsafe & scary. The hallways have roofs with water damage, a rotting mattress sits in the hallway, elevator is missing panelling, reception filthy & dusty with dirty towels laying on the furniture. They didn’t provide a towel or toilet paper for the room. ||I can’t believe Booking.com is not only hosting a scam property like this, but also promoting it (it comes at the top as “promoted” when I search Kolkata hotels). ||Also, as FabHotel Green Arcade cancelled my booking upon checkout, I had no option to write a review to warn others on Booking.com, which is allowing them to propagate their scam with other unsuspecting customers. Their rating must be 100% fake, there is NO WAY a sane person could stay in this filth and rate it anything but 1 star. Please stay safe and stay away from this business !!! It is dangerous for a woman… I am in utter shock Booking.com is still hosting them. I’ve tried to contact booking.com but they ignore all my messages and shut down any complaints raised. This is really a stain on their reputation that they continue to promote and host a disgusting scam operation like this on their platform. ||The photos attached are screenshots from a video I took of the room, so a little blurry. If you could have seen it in person it was 10x worse. Actually disgusting that a business operates like this. I’ve also attached the photos they use on their website so you can see the scam. ||PLEASE, PLEASE STAY AWAY, THIS IS A SCAM BUSINESS with fake photos and shady, shady...
Read moreBeing an avid traveller I'm always exploring different locations and stays. This experience was somewhat underwhelming. The rooms weren't a standard of this present time. Apart from the untidy walls and prints all over the blankets, the bathroom was even more disappointing. The bucket provided had a gaping hole, the shower head ( had 100 holes total) had only 20 of the water holes running.
Now coming to the next disappointment-the in house restaurant. The hotel has a "No outside food " policy and has an in-house restaurant named Sphinx. Awful. Tried experimenting with their pizza and cheese balls. The pizza was like a crisp roti, dry like the Sahara sand and pricing was ridiculous. A 9 inch veg pizza with few pieces of cheese ( which was substituted instead of mushrooms, for which they added an extra 40-50 rupees), corn and bell pepper. Judging by the smell and taste, the produce didn't felt fresh, and the cheese balls was nothing but a big balls of cabbage with little to no cheese, which was around 240. And the condiments they provided was way past their expiry. In total the food was around 620.
On the brighter side the staffs in both the hotel and the restaurant were generous and were mainly polite.
However only positive behavior solely cannot boost up the experience when the rooms and food is thumbs down.
Also being close to the road, the constant traffic and the vibrations from the road will give you a constant massage when you try to sleep.
I would recommend this only for the location, but at this price ( which is roughly around 2k), there are a tonnes of better options. Unless you've an early morning flight and no other options, avoid this stay.
Overall a below average experience for the current...
Read moreHi Fab hotel,
I have stayed fab hotels in Maharashtra and Delhi NCR, so I believed blindly and stayed yesterday at Green Arcade, Jessore road Kolkata. My first & last impression was so bad, because without cleaning n checking, the rooms are handed to customers... Pathetic cleanliness, I'm was not so bothered about the age of the building or infrastructure, but I was bothered about the toilet, floor, bed, pillows, walls, smoke free ambience... Over all not a good rememberable experience....
Please try to improve the basics it's very much possible...
I think staffs or management don't care about such things because later only I saw Google review is filled with same statements but customer feedback is taken as joke or for fun...
My above feedback is for fun for you I know...
Have more fun FAB, if possible change the name of hotel FUN, bcos it's a humiliation fo the English...
