The Centrepoint — Hotel in Zone 15 Sholinganallur

Frankly, I usually give ratings to the places I visit and avoid reviewing and writing about the services with my words. However, I had to take some time and write this.

Me along with my family (mom, wife, daughter and a son) stayed at this place for 14 days. Yes, 14 days as I moved from Mysore to Chennai. I booked the stay based on my budget and basic requirements. Wanted to check if the recent ratings and reviews are true enough.

I had WhatsApp discussion and phone calls with Gracy (the experienced receptionist, accountant, manager of the hotel) and went ahead with the booking.

The check-in was smooth as we reached at 2AM in the morning (wee or weird hours). Thanks to Ashwin (the guy who takes care at the night time). We had a good night's sleep even after the late check in. In the mornings, we had the usual normal complimentary breakfast as promised. We also ordered the other breakfast items off the menu or option we liked to have and got it served. The breakfast gets monotonous over a period of 14 days. However, we were given a choice to choose items from the menu (ala carte).

Believe me, I was pleasantly surprised with the taste and quality of lunch and dinner on a day in day out basis. We didn't regret ordering a single item from the menu. Everything we ordered starters, soups, gravies, kababs, dry items, biriyanis (lunch and dinner) and served were top notch. Thanks to Raju (Mr Shaikh) the main chef who is a magician in terms of making awesome Murgh Malai Tikka, Paneer 65, Gobi 65, Chicken Biriyani, those nice phulkas, white steam rice, dal tadka, tandoori rotis, mixed veg kadai, paneer gravies (please don't miss the Gulab Jamun, we just loved it).

Again, all the products and services provided was with a very dedicated team in the kitchen and in the restaurant. Mercy, Jasmine and Rose with the other caretakers & kitchen staff were kind enough to serve us late during the morning or late in the afternoon or night. They were dedicated and hardworking for sure.

All the housekeeping and other staffs were very courteous to our requests as & when required. Thanks to Mr Damodharan, Rajadurai & Mr Elavarasan will make your day. Thanks to Pradhan and Thakurji as well. I also like the interns too; Marcus & Agalya were very courteous and welcoming. I don't remember the name of the other intern but she was good too.

Special thanks to the staff and security team at the Centrepoint OMR. It's tough to run a place continuously.The owner of the place should be very proud of his/her team and her own efforts to get this place where it is today.

Special mention about Deepti (Deeptiji) for taking care of my family; specially my son for 14 days with lots of love and responsibilities.

I have done a wrong choice for choosing this hotel for my daughter 1st birthday. The hall Deck 4 is not organised properly leaving very less space for the guests. The hall should be good enough to handle 80 people min sitting, which was the expectation while booking, but the management has very bad arrangements it became hard to accommodate 80 for standing as well. They have kept a pool table in the hall and arranged buffet tables in the path way. This need a minimum common sense and if they would have felt responsible they would have removed that. I wouldn't have booked, if i would have seen this pool table before. Initially they keep saying that it was always there and later they accepted that it was not there during the booking. I have coordinated with Arun from sale, but all of a sudden he is not available on the day and the person handled it showed their irresponsible way of organising. I regret for this choice as I can't bring back the day passed. A small irresponsible way of hotel management has spoiled one big memorable day of my life. They understood that during the event and tried helping, but what is the point in realization at that moment. I would have given 0 star for the above, but giving 2 star for the food as it's good. --------- I got a call from the sales after this review and they are saying that it would cost them 5K to dismantle the table and so it was not done. Which is not acceptable, not communicated irresponsible and so mean. I would have paid even double of it if informed prior and said the same. I would have accepted it , if he would have said it is difficult, Can't accept this as it not done as it costs them. So reducing the 2 star to send single star for such...

"Review for budget planners who wish to stay in a star hotel!"

Hi, came here fore a business visit. They received us with a smile and a welcome drink. We were very tired by carrying around 10kg trolly bag all the way. As soon as we stepped in, the helpers carried our bag to our room. Nice gesture and a safe place with a locker too!

We've been charged Rs. 3600 (without breakfast or food) per night inclusive of all taxes (checkin 12 noon- checkout 11 AM). Your money/day is not based on the time you check in. Example, we have checked in at 8PM night but we have paid for 3600 INR that includes our stay from 12 noon itself. Make sure you check in at this hotel around 12 noon.

The room was clean, the receptionist and the hotel cleaners were very helpful. They've cleaned our room whenever we've asked for. Although the food is costly, it is worth for its quality. If you are a food lover, try chicken lollipop(gravy). It is a must try in this hotel.

I would say, if you are preferring for a long stay in this hotel, you can use online food delivery apps (swiggy or zomato) for your food needs. Hence, you can enjoy the luxury stay at the hotel, meanwhile with minimal spend for food. Thus, you can manage your budget in a better way.
