Umino Beach Resort Banquet Hall and Restaurant — Hotel in Zone 15 Sholinganallur

This Beach Resort is located at around 25kms from Chennai at Uttandi towards the ECR ( Chennai Mahabalipuram road). Came across this property by a friend who had recently been here and booked the stay for a quick weekend getaway .

Location ** The property is bang on the beach ( not a private one, but has access to the beach and is quiet though there are residents around. You also get to interact with local fishermen and see their activities.

Ambience ** The rooms are well done with basic facilities and are neat and clean. Housekeeping team also ensures to clean it up daily.

Service ** We stayed for 3days and the hospitality and service was good.

Food - The menu options for Lunch / dinner is good and the food is also tasty.

USP - *Prices are reasonable *They also have special packages for candle light dinners , family dinners get together. They help you with decorating, food , cakes etc. *They also have a banquet space that can be used for small gathering and get together.

The property is managed and by Mr Arun, who is at the property and ensures the guest are at comfort and meeting their needs. Even Ms Asha who is in charge of Marketing was friendly and a great help at the time of booking.

My only suggestion would be Choice over bfast (atleast 1-2 South Indian or other option) Cos all 3 days ended up having only Bread and cornflakes. There was kettle in room , but we din have coffee, tea sachets

Cons:

*Lack of Private Beach: Unfortunately, the resort doesn’t have a private beach. Guests need to venture out to nearby public beaches which I felt not safe there.

*Congested Approach Roads: The roads leading to the resort can be a bit congested, especially with fishermen’s activity around.

*Patience Required for Food: While the food quality is excellent, it’s worth noting that it takes some time to be served. Be prepared for a leisurely dining experience.

*No Complimentary Breakfast: Unlike some resorts, Umino Beach Resort does not provide complimentary breakfast. Guests need to plan their morning meals accordingly.

We conducted a Conclave with nearly 30 members. This resort is having locational advantage, just very nearer to City and located on the sea, yes just 10 to 15 feet away from the sea. First floor rooms give more beautiful views of the sea with sufficient sea breeze. Ground floor roriof the cute Rpool. Thw in sea and pool together with comfortable rooms with tub and jacuzzi that too within Chennai city limit, UMINO is the answer. More than the cozy atmosphere, the food is hygiene, delicious and tasty. The staff members are friendly and helpful.
