We stayed at Merpati for a month. It was fantastic. The family that run this beautiful honestly are warm and friendly: nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotlessly clean and are cleaned twice a week. Each studio is a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, with then either a small upstairs balcony or a ground floor terrace overlooking gardens. Kitchenette equipped with water dispenser and utensils to prepare simple means. Shower was hot with good water pressure; AC was effective. Swimming pool was maintained very well so was always very refreshing and clean. Limited seating around the pool. Office on site with a family member to assist with any queries. Down a small gang on the western side of the by pass, so a scooter or GoJek required to get out and about. Ten minute drive to the heart of the tourist area of Sanur. No restaurants or shops close by. Our stay was fantastic. We used Merpati as a brilliant value for money home base as we explored the north of Bali; and again as we went to Lembongan. Would totally recommend for a short...
Read moreMerpati offers a very nice studio with a pretty comfortable bed, a good shower, good internet, good fridge, good airco, fresh water, a balcony and a kitchenette to cook something simple. This really for a bargain price! The studio is an absolute recommendation for people staying a bit longer in Sanur and having time to explore the area. For 1 or 2-day tourist stays, it is a bit less. Reason being that you need to know the area a bit to find your way around. The studio is actually quite close to the start of Sanur beach, but you only find that out once you have explored the area and know how to get across the big highway that separates this residential area from the tourist beach. In short, you need a scooter or bike and some knowledge of the area, once you have this, this really is the place to be! You are more in a small compound here (with longstay fellow residents next door) than in a tourist-oriented accommodation. We found the managers (Swedish/Indonesian) tremendously relaxed...
Read moreGreat little studio. Comfortable, safe, quiet (except for a few select rosters at 4am) great price for what you get. It's about halfway between a hostel and a hotel. There's a little pool at the front that is a great place to meet your neighbors. Leon the receptionist is extremely helpful and gave me his direct phone number in case he is out of the office and you need anything. Everything we needed he grabbed for us without pause, and is very informative and cheerful. I already left, and do not have any photos but I would give the appearance of the place a 7 out of 10, but the quality of the people running it and your hotel room a...
